World War II Dictators – Internet Research Report

Assignment: The rise of rulers with total power in Europe and Asia led to World War II. Dictators of the 1930s and 1940s changed the course of history, making world leaders especially watchful for the actions of dictators today.

Using your textbook and online sources answer the following questions for one of the following WWII dictators: Francisco Franco, Benito Mussolini or Joseph Stalin. Please make sure you provide enough supporting details to adequately answer the question. All work must be typed using 12-point font.

9. What did you find most interesting/disturbing about your dictator that you did not know previously about him? Please cite a minimum of 3 facts.

10. How do you think history should remember your assigned dictator? What statement (inscription) would you put on his gravestone?

11. How does your WWII dictator compare to a modern day dictator? Review Parade magazine’s 2009 list of the World’s Worst Dictators. Write a paragraph explaining 3 similarities and 3 differences of your WWII dictator to a modern day dictator who made the list.

12. Create a collage representing your dictator’s political views, type of government and actions taken.

13. Create a wordle using 10 descriptive words about your assigned dictator.
