Petition To Terminate Employment Contract

Whereas, since 2012 ISD #518 Superintendent of Schools John Landgaard has ignored the majority will of voters who have oppos- ed some variation of his plan to build a costly new campus on the west side of Worthington! Five referendums, under his leader- ship, have been rejected by the electorate, including the recent (2/12/19) least costly one, which had no organized opposition.

Whereas, the consequence is that Landgaard is dividing our community, attempting to harm the poor/middle class and the agricultural community, and is setting a poor financial example to the young people of the district.

Whereas, John Landgaard applied for the job of Superintendent of the Moorhead ISD in the Spring of 2018.

Therefore, we the undersigned eligible voters in ISD#518 do hereby petition the school board to terminate the employment contract of Superintendent John Landgaard under the statutory authority and powers of their board; and replace him with a school superintendent who will agree to help the district offer us a cost-effective proposal that will meet our educational space needs; and as a consequence, help unify the community behind our school district again.
