Terms of Employment and Compensation

The Search

The Fort Frye Local School District is seeking a qualified applicant for the position of Superintendent. The Board seeks an individual that is highly qualified in the following areas:

? A strong commitment to continuous improvements in all aspects of student development and achievement.

? Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the board, staff, parents, students and members of the community.

? Ability to work effectively with employees and the public.

? Must be able to maintain a high level of professionalism and strict confidentiality.

? A thorough knowledge of school law, levy planning, negotiations, construction management, and public relations.

? A judicious but discreet demeanor around and among all those with whom he/she might communicate.

? A sound knowledge of school finance and personnel management.

About the District

The mission of the Fort Frye Local School District (FFLSD) is to work as an educational community empowering students with life-long learning skills.

FFLSD has one high school that houses grades 7-12 and three elementary schools for K-6. The district has a total of 84 faculty and professional staff members and 78 support personnel. Even though we are a small school district of approximately 1036 students, the 15 full-time bus routes cover 176 square miles.

About the Community

FFLSD is located in southeast Ohio, approximately 100 miles southeast of Columbus. The community, although rural has a mixture of both blue collar and white collar workers.

Churches representing varied faiths provide worship opportunities for local residents. The availability of residential housing is mostly limited to single-family homes with some apartment options.

This close knit community is active in a variety of volunteer and charitable organizations such as the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, the American Legion, the Lions Club, and Boys and Girl Scouts, just to mention a few.
