JOINT ANALYSIS PROJECT

You are to choose one of the following joints; Metatarsals of foot, ankle, knee, hip, lumbar vertebra, thoracic vertebra, cervical vertebra, shoulder, wrist, thumb, fingers, elbow, jaw. You are to do a detailed analysis of this joint and present it in a book like fashion. You may work with only one other person. Your joint analysis will be graded on neatness, color, accuracy of the information, completeness of information and following of instructions. Your analysis must include:

• A complete diagram of the joint with muscles, bones, tendons, ligaments and nerves (Draw not printed off the computer)

• A diagram of the joint showing only the bones of the joints (Drawn not printed off the computer)

• A separate diagram showing the muscles and tendons (drawn not printed off the computer)

• A separate diagram showing the ligaments (drawn not printed off the computer

• A diagram and explanation of all movements possible at that joint, drawn not printed off the computer)

• Explain in detail and diagram 3 injuries that can occur to the joint. Include mechanism of injury, and treatments for each one (include pictures)

• Explain in detail 3 diseases associated with that joint, include causes and treatments of each one. (include pictures)

• Include at least 4 interesting facts about that joint

• A multiple choice test about the information in your analysis with at least 15 questions.

• At least 1 color picture or diagram on each page

• Typed

• A table of contents

• A well designed cover

• A bibliography with at least 6 references only 1 of which may be an encyclopedia

• A Glossary of at least 15 terms associated with that joint

• Bound in a neat readable way

Your completed analysis is due on 10/27!
