John fell into German hands and become a POW in Belgium on the 29th May 1940 the day after the Belgium Army surrendered. Probably around the Poperinge area. He was assigned POW number 15378. He was not formally reported missing until early June. Around 30 May 1940 he arrived (probably by rail) at Stalag XII A, a transit camp in Limburg, Germany. ................
