Wyoming Elk Hunting & Trophy

Wyoming Elk Hunts

Our hunt areas are well known for the trophy heads that they have consistently produced over the years along with the abundant number of elk. With a resident herd of Elk we do not depend on the snowfall or a migration to have good elk to hunt. The elk are there all year round with the main feed ground not far away. Our upper camp is set high up off Wolf Mountain where the deer and elk really do roam. We have more information on our Wyoming Elk Hunting camps.

The Elk population in Western Wyoming is extremely healthy and our hunt area is no exception. With a resident herd the weather is not an issue with our camps. The success rate for our camps over the years is 80% with several trophy mounts taken each year. Send us an inquiry now about Wyoming Elk Hunting.

If you like to archery hunt, our Camps offer some great areas for the season's BIG BULLS. We also schedule combination Archery/Rifle hunts for both Deer and Elk. These are 7 or 10 day hunts, where you begin archery hunting on the last 4 days of the archery season and if unsuccessful then switch to rifle to finish your hunt. These combination hunts are best from the High Camp.

Wyoming Specialty Hunts - Bear, Goats, Sheep & Moose

Black Bear - For bear hunts, we do individual bear hunts. You can buy over the counter. We see several bears each season, and you may see one while you're out on a deer or elk hunt. We also do our spring bear hunts. We bait the bears in the Spring, as they're coming out in the spring. We hunt off of the baits. We hunt black bears, in between 5-7 feet. Try to kill mostly big boars. We're 100% on Spring bears. Several spring bears every year. For Fall hunts, wait till you get here before you buy a tag to make sure the quota's not filled.

Moose - If you are lucky enough to draw a Moose tag the chances of getting a trophy are excellent. We have a great moose herd in the dog creek area. Our moose hunts have been 100%. The moose are here.

Big Horn Sheep - Our two select areas for Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep are unique, because one of them is the only area in the state where any Sheep is legal. These are some of the toughest hunts there are. The sheep are there. We can take you part way on horseback; the rest of the way is climbing.

Mountain Goats - We have one of the exclusive mountain goat hunting areas in the state, even in the country. Mountain goats are plentiful in this area with a 100% success rate on goats. It is once-in a lifetime tag, if you can draw one. There are only two areas in the state for goats. Our area #2 that we harvest range from 7-10 years olds which provide quality animals. We try to take 9.1/2 to 10 1/2 inch goats. We run a 5 day goat hunt. Our mountain goat hunts are fairly hard you have to walk quite a bit. Mountain goats spend their time in the high cliff areas. They can be a fairly grueling hunt as far as hiking and walking.

Mountain Lion - We do our winter mountain lion hunts. Those start in mid-December through usually March. Those are town based hunts. We ride snowmobiles and use dogs to track the mountain lions. Our hunts are dependent on the weather. We have to be able to find the tracks to chase the lions. We'll tree as many lions as we can find tracks. There are plenty of mountain lions to kill in the area. Mountain lion tags are over the counter. It's on a quota, for example 15 lions. As soon as they kill 15 lions the quota is over, but as many males are okay. Because our mountain lion hunts are based on weather, it's best to be able to be on call. Another way is to come snowmobiling and if we have some weather get a tag.

Plains Buffalo Hunts - We do run plains buffalo hunts based out of Jackson Hole, just north of Jackson on the Teton National Forest. They issue a number and when they call you, you have to come.
