Application Deadlines Special Hunt Draws 2013-2014

 Successful implementation of online-only, special hunts application process to satisfy requirements of SB 196 and promote earlier release of draw results and refunds.

One requirement of SB 196 is the submission of funds for a game hunting license prior to entering a special hunts application.

Game hunting license purchase is required prior to possessing a big game or wild turkey license.

One issue identified in the 2012-2013 special hunt application process was the issuing of game hunting licenses for spring turkey hunters.

Because of the issue raised by spring turkey hunters who also submit special hunt applications, the Department is recommending the following deadlines for next spring:

? February 6, 2013 - Bear Wildlife Management Area and Special Turkey Draw Permits

? March 13, 2013 - Public Land Deer, Elk, Pronghorn Antelope, Oryx, Ibex, Barbary Sheep, Bighorn Sheep, and Javelina
