APPLICATION INFORMATION

*All counties are open to Firearm deer hunting except Cook, DuPage, Lake (EXCEPT Chain O' Lakes State Park) and that portion of Kane county east of State Route 47.*

? Applications will be rejected, fees forfeited and permits revoked if you receive or attempt to receive more than one either-sex or one either-sex & bonus antlerless-only Firearm

permit before June 30. You may also apply for one Either-Sex or Either-Sex & bonus antlerless-only Muzzleloader permit (see Muzzleloader application).

? Landowners or tenants who apply for or receive Free Property-Only Hunting Firearm Deer Permits cannot apply in the 1st or 2nd Firearm lotteries, but may apply in the 3rd lottery. ? Permits are not transferable; and no refunds will be made unless your county, hunt area, or season choices are not available. ? Preference System: Hunter preference in obtaining a permit during the First Lottery Drawing will be given to individuals that applied for an either-sex permit in the previous year's

First Lottery Drawing who were rejected because the quota was depleted in their county choices. The following criteria must be met to obtain a preference in the First Lottery Drawing: a) The applicant must apply using the official Department application; b) The applicant must be a resident of the State, be eligible to receive a Firearm Deer Permit, and not had deer hunting privileges revoked pursuant to Section 650.50; c) The applicant must apply for the same county choices that he/she listed on the previous year's application. Preference will not be granted for Special Hunt Areas.

Special Hunt Areas: Special hunts held on federal or state lands are regulated by the agency which manages the property. Some of these areas are included in the lotteries (see list below). If you wish to apply for a permit to hunt one of these areas, enter the appropriate code from the list below. Special Hunt Area permits are not valid anywhere else in the county. County permits are not valid for the Special Hunt Areas listed on this application. Other Hunt Areas: There are other areas that have local drawings for permits from county permit holders. Hunters for these areas must first acquire a permit for the county where the area is located. For more information regarding locations and requirements of Special Hunt Areas only, call the Division of Wildlife Resources at 217-782-6384.
