Students will apply critical-thinking skills to analyze financial options based on current and projected economic factors. Students will gain knowledge and skills necessary to set long-term financial goals through investment, tax planning, asset allocation, risk management, retirement planning, and estate planning. Course Materials3-ring binder, notebook paper, writing utensilNO REQUIRED TEXTBOOKNEFE High School Financial Planning Program Student GuideGrading Policy60% Major Grades40% Daily GradesSemester grades 45% first grading period, 45% 2nd grading period, 10% midterm/final exam.Make-Up Policy (if Absent)Students have a period of time equal to the length of the excused absence to turn in makeup work or to have developed a plan with the teacher for making up the missing assignment(s).? All work should be completed prior to the end of unit test.? See teacher or Schoology for any missing assignments. ?? A student absent for a previous scheduled test must make up the test on the day that they return to class or within the same number of class days they were absent.Late Policy To receive full credit for an assignment, students must turn in work by the announced deadline.? Students will be allowed to keep working on the assignment ON THEIR OWN time and turn it in up to the end of the unit for partial credit. No work will be accepted for a grade after the end of the unit.Tutoring Times and PoliciesTutoring is available before or after school on most days. Please schedule with teacher. Test Corrections/Re-testsRe-testing exams is a privilege at LTHS.? Any Major Grade below a 90 is eligible for a re-test.?Students may re-test/complete an alternative assessment for half the value of the points missed on the original exam (not to exceed a 90).? The following parameters apply: 1. Student must attend tutoring/review test corrections. 2. Exam must be completed within 7 calendar days of posted test scores.? 3. An alternate assignment/exam will be given. ?4.?Only one re-take per Major Grade.Current EventsStudents will download a financial or news app (i.e. CNN, Yahoo Finance, etc.) on their device to discuss at the beginning of each class. Each student must submit one current event per week to Schoology for a cumulative Daily Grade each nine weeks. ................
