Taking a sneak peek...

This has not been an easy market to invest in and the Game results reflect this with the average syndicate portfolio being $49,275 and only 22% of syndicates in profit.

If you're not in profit you might be looking at the leaders, who have increased their portfolios by up to $8,000, and wondering what they are doing?

To help answer this question, this fortnight, we are taking a sneak peek at the trading activity of a few of the leading syndicates.

We have chosen 3 syndicates randomly* from the top ten. We have disguised their identity and kept a couple of their stocks hidden. There is no point copying their portfolio as these shares may have already shown their greatest gains.

So here you go ? you can now see what the leaders have been up to...

Syndicate A: This syndicate is using a buy and hold strategy ? they have only sold once ? and this was to cut their losses. After selling they replaced the stock with another which is now in profit, so this was a good decision. They are holding BSL, FMG and two others. The sectors they are invested in include consumer staples, materials and telecommunications.

Syndicate B: This syndicate at present is fully in cash, they have sold all of their stocks. Prior to this they purchased 4 stocks and sold them taking their profits, they then did this again, purchasing some of the same stocks and selling to take profits. The stocks they invested in include MQG, STO, SRX, TNE and 2 others. The sectors they have focused on are financials, health care, IT, and energy

Syndicate C: This syndicate is holding 5 stocks, including FMG, OZL, WSA and two others. They have bought 9 times and sold 4 times, taking profits and then buying some of the same stocks again. The sectors they have invested in include materials, health care, and consumer discretionary. You can view the Syndicate portfolios here
