A Worship Leader and live instruments are recommended to sing along with the music tracks. Encourage children to be active during worship by incorporating the appropriate hand motions.

What You Need: Paperclip “Memory Verse Card” in your Bible at Matthew 19:26. You will also need this month’s worship song, “Amazing Things.” You will also need “Special Delivery.”

LG LEADER: “Yay! I’m so glad to see you today. It’s so much fun to sing with you. This month is so fun. I love learning about all the amazing things that Jesus did. He truly can do anything. Who can do anything?”

CHILDREN and LG LEADER: [Bottom Line] “Jesus can do anything.”

LG LEADER: “Great job! Let’s sing this month’s song.”

(Lead children in singing “Amazing Things,” this month’s worship song.)

“Great singing, my friends. Remember, [Bottom Line] Jesus can do anything. Who can do anything?”

CHILDREN and LG LEADER: [Bottom Line] “Jesus can do anything.”

LG LEADER: “Exactly. [Bottom Line] Jesus can do anything. It’s time to practice our memory verse. Are you ready? With God (point both hands up), all things (spread your arms out in a moving circle in front of your body) are possible (two thumbs up), Matthew 19:26. (Open your hands like a book.) Do that with me.”

CHILDREN and LG LEADER: “With God (point both hands up), all things (spread your arms out in a moving circle in front of your body) are possible (two thumbs up), Matthew 19:26.” (Open your hands like a book.) (Repeat several times.)

LG LEADER: “You are all AMAZING at that verse! Have you shown your parents yet? How about your brother and sister? How about all your good friends? Make sure you show them today. Are you ready to sing another song with me? (Pause.) You are? Let’s sing our song about when God gave us Jesus. Jesus is God’s Son, and He was a VERY special delivery.

(Lead children in singing “Special Delivery.”)

“Way to go, friends. Now remind me: Who can do anything?”

CHILDREN and LG LEADER: [Bottom Line] “Jesus can do anything.”

Bible Story

What You Need: Bible, Storytelling Video

LG LEADER: “My name is [Storyteller’s name], and I have something even more amazing to tell you today. It’s a story about something Jesus did and it’s right here in the Bible.

(Hold up the Bible and open it.)

“That means it’s a true story that really happened a long time ago.

“One day Jesus and His friends, the disciples, had been working really hard. They wanted to go somewhere where they could be alone and rest. But when they got where they were going there was a huge crowd of people waiting on them.

“Let’s watch this video and see what happened.”

SHOW STORYTELLING VIDEO

“Over 5,000 people had come from far away just to hear Jesus teach. What do you think Jesus did? (Pause.) Yes, sir! Jesus taught the people.

“Jesus talked for a very long time and told all the people how much God loves them and how to do the right thing. But then it started to get late. The disciples wanted Jesus to tell everyone to go home so they could get something to eat, but Jesus wanted to feed the people right there. How could the disciples feed all of those people? There were over 5,000 people! That would be impossible for the disciples. No one can feed over 5,000 people.

“Jesus told the disciples to go and see how much food they could gather. So the disciples did what Jesus said. When they came back they had this much food.

(Hold up the basket of bread and fish.)

“Let’s count the food together.

(Place a bread roll on the table for the children to see as you count them.)

CHILDREN and STORYTELLER: “One, two, three, four, five.”

STORYTELLER: “Five loaves of bread. But wait. There’s more. I see some fish. Will you count the fish with me?

(Place fish on the table for the children to see as you count them.)

CHILDREN and STORYTELLER: “One, two.”

STORYTELLER: “Two fish. So the disciples gathered five loaves of bread and two fish. Is that enough food to feed over 5,000 people? (Pause.) No way! Feeding all of those people was way too hard for the disciples, but not for Jesus. Nothing is too hard for Jesus. [Bottom Line] Jesus can do anything. Who can do anything?”

CHILDREN and STORYTELLER: [Bottom Line] “Jesus can do anything!”

STORYTELLER: “And boy did He in this story! Jesus took the five loaves of bread and two fish. He prayed and thanked God for them. And then He gave the food to the disciples to pass out to all of the people. That’s when something amazing—something really, REALLY amazing—happened. The food never ran out! There was enough food for every person. No one was hungry, and the disciples were AMAZED!

END WITH THE FOLLOWING:

“That is something only Jesus can do. [Bottom Line] Jesus can do anything, because Jesus is God’s Son, and with God all things are possible.

(Pick up your Bible and hold it up for the children to see.)

“That’s the truth, friends! You better believe it! Let’s close our eyes and pray.”

PRAYER

STORYTELLER: “Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us such a wonderful place to hear true stories from the Bible. Jesus truly is amazing, and there is nothing too hard for Him. Jesus can do anything, because He is your Son. I pray that each person in this room will want Jesus to be their friend forever. That would be amazing! We love You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

“Thanks for being such great listeners. Have fun in your small group!”

(Dismiss children to their small groups.)
