It consists of more than 6,000 faculty and staff, and has an enrolment of approximately 9,000 students, more than 1,200 of whom reside on Campus. PROVISION FOR AUB is requesting offers from qualified suppliers for the provision of the following :Muffle furnaceas specified under Section 2.1. 2.1Specifications1. Muffle furnace with accessories Quantity = 1 eachCapacity:Chamber volume at least 3.5 L. Indicate offered volume.Power: 220 VAC, 50 Hz, single phase or 380V triple phases. Indicate exact power requirements for offered model.Temperature control:Programmable, controllable temperature and time.Temperature display:Digital.Temperature Range:Should operate at a range of temperature between ambient and 1500 °C or larger. (preferably up to 1800 °C). Indicate offered temperature range.Temperature accuracy:Around ± 2°C. Indicate offered accuracy.Safety:Should have an overtemperature sensor (with variable setpoint). Preferably with a door interlock for power interruption when door is opened.Warranty:A minimum of 2 years, including all parts and labor. Indicate offered warranty.Installation:On-site installation, operation-qualification, performance verification and user training.System should be delivered with a full set of user and service manuals.Post-installation services:Manufacturer/supplier should guarantee availability of spare parts for at least 10 years following commissioning.Supplier should guarantee a maximum downtime of 15 working-days per breakdown during the warranty period, after which warranty extension for the excess downtime should be granted. Excessive or recurrent breakdowns will warrant immediate warranty extension.Origin:? Failure to do so may result in the elimination of the proposal from consideration.Sealed Quotation Award & ExecutionAUB reserves the right to cancel the Sealed Quotation without giving the reasons, at any stage prior to the execution of the contract whether before or after the selection of the successful Supplier. AUB reserves the right to reject any proposal without giving the reasons for such rejection. Unless otherwise stipulated, the Sealed Quotation and proposal of the selected bidder will become part of any contract initiated by AUB. The contract form will be provided by AUB upon selection of the successful bidder. AUB will not incur any liability to any bidder as a result of using its rights hereunder or any other right provided for by law.ValidityProposals submitted shall be valid for 6 months from the date of submission. Proposals will be treated as final and binding offers and may not be amended or withdrawn without the written permission of the University.Proposal OwnershipAll materials submitted in response to this Sealed Quotation shall become the property of AUB. Costs associated with developing the proposal, preparing for oral presentations, and any other expenses incurred by the Suppliers in responding to this Sealed Quotation are entirely the responsibility of the Supplier, and shall not be reimbursed in any manner by AUB.Liquidated Damages on late dEliveriesIf the supplier fails to supply the specified goods/services within the lead time stipulated by its proposal, or within a period specified by an order or a contract, AUB shall, without prejudice to other remedies under the purchase order or contract, deduct from the purchase order or contract price, as liquidated damages, a sum equivalent to 1% of the delivered price of the delayed goods/services for each commenced week of delay until actual delivery, to a maximum deduction of 10% of the contract value.restrictionsThe University will not be liable for any costs incurred by Suppliers prior to issuance of or entering into a contract.
