Johnson Controls Receives Silver Innovation Award

Award recognizes quality, reliability, warranty protection and value

MILWAUKEE – (Date) – Johnson Controls, the global leader in delivering solutions that increase energy efficiency in buildings, was recently awarded the Silver Innovation Award in the HVAC Units category of Home Builder Executive’s 2012 Innovation Awards. Johnson Controls was recognized for their products that provide the quality, reliability, warranty protection and value that new home builders demand and for their programs that support the residential new construction builders using the York, Coleman and Luxaire brands.

“The Silver Innovation Award reinforces our commitment to home builders to provide them with HVAC products ideal for all home types and equipment solutions that allow them to achieve stringent ENERGY STAR® or Environments for Living® (EFL) certifications,” said Brian Michael, director, residential sales development & national accounts for Johnson Controls, Unitary Products Group. “In addition, the award recognizes our support of local, regional and national home builders through customizable incentive programs that meet the unique needs of each.”

Bill Justus, vice president supply chain services with David Weekley Homes, values Johnson Controls equipment solutions that promote energy efficiency. “We emphasize energy conservation in the construction of our homes,” he said. “To accomplish this we rely on companies such as York to provide us with energy-efficient equipment that is both reliable and forward thinking. We value our relationship with York and consider them an integral partner in providing this value proposition to our home buyers.”

In addition to equipment solutions, customizable incentive programs from Johnson Controls also appeal to residential new construction builders. For example, the Home Partner Residential New Construction program, aimed at small to large local builders, offers substantial equipment rebates based on product type. The goal of the program is to provide incentives that are most important to the builder, and it allows contractors to work directly with the home builders they serve to determine what incentives are most beneficial.

“Relationships are crucial in today’s uncertain economy,” said Greg Jones, CEO of Dave Jones Plumbing, Inc., a York dealer located in Madison, Wisconsin. “We aim to provide our customers the best price, product and service. Johnson Controls and their York brand’s Home Partner program provide us the tools to solidify these relationships.”

Home Builder Executive researched unique products, builder programs and initiatives suppliers have brought to the category during the award process. Editors reviewed company websites, press releases and promotional materials, as well as articles and interviews published over the last year, to determine winners.

In addition to HVAC products, the 2012 Innovation Awards recognized various products and companies in other areas related to residential new construction, including windows, siding and paint.
