Revelation 3:20 (NLT) 20 "Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.

There are many places in our lives where the Lord is absent. Those places are the ones where you and I experience deep grief. We doubt. We stress out. We forget where God's already brought us from. We get bitter and not better. Why? All because the Lord is not in that place in our lives.

If the Lord isn't there, then you can rest assured Satan will be. John the writer of Revelation records Jesus giving the key to lock doors and closed situations in our life. Jesus says, "Look! I stand at the door and Knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends." Either you're sharing a meal with Satan or with Jesus. There isn't an in between person.

We must get to the point where we're rest assured in saying and believing, Lord you are welcome in this place. When the Lord is in the place, Satan has to flee. When the Lord is on your mind, doubt must flee. When the Lord's Word is use for your problems, stress must flee. When the Lord is in your heart, bitterness walks out the door and better walks in the door. But how do we welcome the Lord in whatever the place is in our life causing us so much irritation? First, hear the Lord's voice. Next, open the door.

Let's break these two solutions down. Hear the Lord's voice! This means trust the Word of God. Don't doubt the Word. Be patient and wait on the Lord. The Lord keeps his promise. His word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. But if you hear the word and fail to open the door, then what? The Lord doesn't push his way into places. He must be invited in. How? Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not unto your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths. Hearing the word and not doing the word is just like not hearing the word at all. Hear and do and watch the Lord come in the place where you need him most.
