Obviously, we are very excited. We’ve been eagerly waiting for a few months now to kick this off. For us it’s a big moment in the year. Our partnership with PGA TOUR is always fantastic. We are continuously looking for ways to build for the future. I think that’s what we have to continue doing. Challenging the players with more ideas, with more things and try to put that in to motion. That is what we are doing with the PGA TOUR.---MUSIC CHANGESINCE 2015, THE ZURICH ARGENTINA SWING HAS AWARDED THE TOP PERFORMING PLAYER ACROSS ALL FOUR ARGENTINE EVENTS WITH A $10,000 CASH PRIZE BONUS.JARED WOLFE SOT: That is something really cool. To be told that at the beginning of the year that there’s a chance to have a bonus for us, that goes a long way, and extremely thankful to Zurich for sponsoring that. IN ADDITION TO PROMOTING A FIRST – CLASS COMPETITION THROUGHOUT THE REGION, ZURICH ARGENTINA USES THIS PLATFORM TO GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY AND IS CONTINUING WITH ITS BIRDIES INITIATIVE THIS YEAR. FOR EVERY BIRDIE OR EAGLE MADE ON THE 18TH HOLE OF EACH TOURNAMENT ZURICH ARGENTINA WILL DONATE 800 ARGENTINE PESOS TO FUNDACI?N INTEGRAR, A FOUNDATION THAT PROVIDES SCHOLARSHIPS TO COLLEGE STUDENTS IN ARGENTINA.OVER THE PAST THREE YEARS, DONATIONS HAVE CLIMBED FROM $80,000 ARGENTINE PESOS TO NEARLY $225,000! ZURICH ARGENTINA IS PROUD OF THESE EFFORTS AND COMMITTED TO THE FUTURE OF EDUCATION IN THE COUNTRY.FABIO ROSSI SOT: La educación como concepto a largo plazo siempre ha sido una prioridad para nosotros. Education as a long-term concept has always been a priority for us. We believe this is what makes a different in any country. We’ve partnered with Fundación Integrar because of its incredible work. This year, we’ve increased our donations to 800 pesos for every birdie. Let’s hope that players take advantage of these holes and make lots of birdies. From the beginning, we always said that as important as it is to host tournaments, for us it’s equally as important to give back to the community a part of what we receive. BUMP #1:AFTER THE BREAK ON ESTO ES PGA TOUR LATIONAM?RICA…WE HEAR FROM 2016 ABIERTO OSDE DEL CENTRO CHAMPION ANTHONY PAOLUCCI…PAOLUCCI SOT: The win in 2016 was a huge step for me.AND THEN FIND OUT WHO WAS CROWNED CHAMPION AT THIS YEAR’S ABIERTO OSDE DEL CENTRO PRESENTADO POR FIBERCORP.SEGMENT TWOREJOIN: ESTO ES PGA TOUR LATINOAMERICA!ANTHONY PAOLUCCI MINI:THE ABIERTO OSDE DEL CENTRO PRESENTADO POR FIBERCORP IS ONE OF THE MOST TRADITIONAL TOURNAMENTS IN ARGENTINA. AND THROUGHOUT IT’S MORE THAN 90 YEAR HISTORY IT’S ATTRACTED SOME OF THE GAME’S GREATEST STARS.SAM SNEAD WON THE TITLE IN 1941…ROBERTO DE VICENZO AND EDUARDO ROMERO EACH HOISTED THE TROPHY SEVEN TIMES THROUGHOUT THEIR CAREERS…AND C?RDOBA NATIVE ?NGEL CABRERA HAS WON THIS EVENT EIGHT TIMES…THE LAST VICTORY COMING IN 2013.AND RECENTLY, SOME OF PGA TOUR LATINOAMERICA’S BRIGHTEST YOUNG STARS HAVE TAKEN HOME THE TOP PRIZE. IN 2016, THE HONOR WENT TO TEXAN ANTHONY PAOLUCCI, WHOSE FOUR-STROKE WIN WAS HIS FIRST AS A PROFESSIONAL. BUT EVEN IN VICTORY, HE FOUND A NEED FOR IMPROVEMENT. PAOLUCCI SOTS The win in 2016 was a huge step for me, I won on a tough golf course in Córdoba. Probably had one of the best weeks scrambling in my career. And that’s what I felt like won the tournament. And just other events throughout the rest of that year prompted me, “hey I need to make a change if I want to compete at the and PGA TOUR level.MUSIC CHANGE: PAOLUCCI FINISHED THE 2017 SEASON WITH JUST ONE TOP-10 ON 11 MADE CUTS…WHICH EARNED HIM 52ND PLACE ON THE FINAL ORDER OF MERIT.PAOLUCCI SOTS: It was just a blur because I worked so hard on my swing every day and it was a grind and then on top of that I’m trying to play competitively with all these players out here, and it’s not easy! I felt like I played well to keep my card on this Tour to give me the opportunity to play here again this year to hopefully move up to the Web. I switched coaches about a year and a half ago, and it’s been a long process. We’ve changed almost everything in my golf game other than my grip. And it comes down to putting, chipping, full swing and I’m finally kind of rounded a corner in terms of being able to play freely again and not be so technical with my golf swing. PGA TOUR Latinoamérica is a great place to just continue to refine our skills and get in to a competitive mode. We’re all a capable. And you see guys in about a year, year and a half time, will be on the PGA TOUR. And it’s such a quick transition, just in 2016 I was playing with guys who are on the PGA TOUR right now. So while it might seem like a daunting or long process to get to the Tour, we’re actually very close. OSDE DEL CENTRO RECAPWHEN CHILE’S CRISTOBAL DEL SOLAR TEE’D IT UP IN THE FINAL ROUND OF THE 87TH ABIERTO OSDE DEL CENTRO PRESENTADO POR FIBERCORP WITH A 6-STROKE LEAD…HE WASN’T THINKING ABOUT WINNING HIS FIRST PGA TOUR LATINOAM?RICA TITLE.THE 24-YEAR-OLD OPENED WITH THREE ROUNDS IN THE 60S …BUT WAS STILL ABLE TO STAY IN THE ‘ZONE’.DEL SOLAR ENGLISH SOT: I didn’t even look at the leaderboard until the 18th hole. There were a couple of leaderboards on the course. I was trying to avoid them. I was feeling a little nervous but comfortable at the same time, so I didn’t want to put more stress on myself.DEL SOLAR DIDN’T HAVE HIS BEST STUFF ON CHAMPIONSHIP SUNDAY, SHOOTING A FINAL-ROUND 74 AT C?RDOBA GOLF CLUB …BUT IT HARDLY MATTERED. ONLY THREE PLAYERS WERE ABLE TO TURN IN SCORES IN THE 60S AND NONE OF THEM WERE HIS CLOSEST PURSUERS.DEL SOLAR ENGLISH SOT: I had a big lead but even though you have a big lead you’re still going to be thinking about other people. So, I was really trying to keep a strategy. I was trying to have a game plan, just try and execute it um it worked out. When I got to the 18th hole I saw the big leaderboard I saw that I was you know 5-strokes ahead of the second guy and I was extremely happy and I kind of got calm from then.MUSIC CHANGE THE FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY GRAD COASTED TO THE FIRST TITLE OF HIS PGA TOUR LATINOAM?RICA CAREER…A SURPRISING FEAT CONSIDERING THAT DEL SOLAR HAD MISSED THE CUT IN BOTH OF HIS 2018 STARTS.DEL SOLAR ENGLISH SOT: This is my first professional win. I’m really excited. You have no idea how happy I am. It’s big, it’s big. HE’S JUST THE SECOND CHILEAN TO WIN ON PGA TOUR LATINOAM?RICA, JOINING MITO PEREIRA…WINNER OF THE ROBERTO DE VICENZO PUNTA DEL ESTE OPEN IN 2016. WITH THE VICTORY HE TAKES THE EARLY LEAD IN THE ZURICH ARGENTINA SWING…AND VAULTS INTO 3RD ON THE ORDER OF MERIT.(ORDER OF MERIT GRAPHIC)JUST BEHIND THE UNITED STATES’ AUSTIN SMOTHERMAN AND BEN POLLAND. COLOMBIA’S MARCELO ROZO CLIMBS TO 4TH AFTER A TIE FOR 2ND IN C?RDOBA. MJ MAGUIRE ROUNDS OUT THE TOP 5 AFTER HIS STRONG PERFORMANCE AT THE ABIERTO OSDE DEL CENTRO…BUT THERE’S STILL A LOT OF GOLF LEFT TO PLAY!BUMP #2:COMING UP ON ESTO ES PGA TOUR LATINOAM?RICA…WE CELEBRATE THE TOUR’S 100TH EVENT AT THE MOLINO CA?UELAS CHAMPIONSHIP!JORGE FERNANDEZ-VALDES SOT: Con este tour, poder saltar al Tour y fue muy importante que el PGA haya venido at Latinoamérica. This Tour gives us the ability to make it up to the Tour, and it was really important that the PGA TOUR developed this Tour in Latin America. AND LATER…COCHA SOT: Lo mas importante es que me dio la chance de subir al Web dos veces. The most important thing is that I had a chance to make it up to the Tour twice. WE HEAR FROM TOMMY COCHA, WINNER OF THE VERY FIRST EVENT ON PGA TOUR LATINOAM?RICA, ALL THAT AND MORE AFTER THE BREAK! SEGMENT THREE REJOIN:ESTO ES PGA TOUR LATINOAM?RICA!100TH EVENT THERE’S A PARTY HAPPENING IN BUENOS AIRES… BECAUSE PGA TOUR LATINOAM?RICA IS CELEBRATING IT’S 100TH EVENT! IN JUST 7 YEARS, THE TOUR HAS CROWNED 65 CHAMPIONS, IN 18 DIFFERENT COUNTRIES, THROUGHOUT LATIN AMERICA. WARFIELD SOT: It’s important for us to have an appreciation that what we do inside the ropes is very important to create a consistent product that’s a PGA TOUR brand level product. Outside the ropes, it’s important for us to allow an event in Mexico to feel the way it should that’s different from an event in Argentina. It’s the most diverse product that we have at the PGA TOUR and we should embrace that.MORE THAN 100 PLAYERS HAVE JOINED THE TOUR, WITH 18 MOVING ON TO THE PGA TOUR!TOMMY COCHA: Obviamente?hay muchos buenos jugadores, el nivel sigue creciendo. Los campos son buenos?y te prepara bien yo creo para el futuro. You can see there are really good players out here, the level of play just keeps growing. The courses are great, and I think it prepares you for the future. BUTTACAVOLI SOT It taught me to adapt more than anything. It’s being able to adjust to those different course conditions, adjust with the travel across the continent, obviously it’s difficult to get from one place to another at times but it’s all part of the experience. I’d never been to South America before playing the Tour and now I feel like I’ve been to almost every country on the map! I’ve eaten some awesome food, seen some really cool sites and played some great golf courses as well, so you have a lot of good things going when you’re down here.WARFIELD SOT: I think the thing that was most dramatic, for where we sit today, is the quality for players. We operate the events just like we would any other tour. The standards are the same, the expectations are the same of the players. So if a player comes to play with us, they know right out of the box what is expected of them and likewise when they move up a level. That in it of itself is the part that helps create that pathway model between to tours. JORGE FERNANDEZ-VALDES SOT: Creo que fue muy importante para nosotros los latinos tener acceso al PGA TOUR. Obviamente con este Tour, poder saltar al Tour y hacer el camino por los Estados Unidos creo que eso nos ayudado a mejorar el nivel a todos los latinos. Fue muy importante que el PGA haya venido a Latinoamérica. It was really important for us Latins to have access to the PGA TOUR. Obviously this Tour gives us the ability to make it up to the Tour and then take that route through the United States which helps us all get better and get to the next level. It was really important that the PGA TOUR developed this Tour in Latin America. AND WHAT BETTER WAY TO CELEBRATE THIS MILESTONE THAN AT THE MOLINO CA?UELAS CHAMPIONSHIP. HERE’S TO 100 MORE! COCHA FEATURE: TOMMY COCHA KNOWS A THING OR TWO ABOUT MILESTONES! THE ARGENTINE HAS THE HONOR OF BEING THE VERY FIRST CHAMPION ON PGA TOUR LATINOAM?RICA...WINNING THE 2012 MUNDO MAYA OPEN PRESENTED BY CORONA AS A 21 YEAR OLD…COCHA SOT: Uno siempre dice que en golf nunca hay una semana perfecta. Ese fue el único torneo que jugué donde me salió todo bien, cuando necesitaba picaba bien, le pegaba mal al putt y el pasto me lo tiraba al hoyo. Espero que se repita una de esas. People always say in golf there’s no such thing as a perfect week. That was the only tournament where everything went well. When I hit a poor shot I made up for it, if I made a bad putt the grass would guide it back to the hole. I hope one day I can repeat that. SINCE THE START OF HIS PROFESSIONAL CAREER IN 2012, COCHA HAS EARNED 27 TOP 25’S, 14 TOP 10’S, AND 3 VICTORIES…WHICH PROPELLED HIM TO THE TOUR WHERE HIS BEST FINISH WAS A TIE FOR 33RD. COCHA SOT: Obviamente lo más importante es que me dio la chance de subir al Web dos veces. Después otro a?o quede entre los top-20 y jugué la segunda etapa, pase y llegue a la final. Obviously the most important thing is that I had a chance to make it up to the Tour twice. In one year I made it through to the top 20 which allowed me to play the second half and get to the finals. NOW 27, HE’S KICKING OFF A FRESH SEASON ON PGA TOUR LATINOAM?RICA. AND COMING OFF A T-6 FINISH AT THE 87TH ABIERTO OSDE DEL CENTRO PRESENTADO POR FIBERCORP, COCHA IS PRIMED FOR THE CHALLENGE AHEAD.BUMP #3:COMING UP NEXT…IT’S THE MOLINO CA?EULAS CHAMPIONSHIP IN BUENOS AIRES!AND THEN PGA TOUR LATINOAM?RICA ANNOUNCES A NEW EVENT IN ARGENTINA!WARFIELD SOT: Patagonia is a recognized region of the world so we’re very excited to bring one of our golf tournaments here.AND LATER, WE CHECK IN TO SEE WHICH ONE OF OUR GRADUATES IS GETTING COMFORTABLE ON THE TOUR…AUDIO CALL: The 37-year-old, finally breaking through on the Tour!AFTER THE BREAK, ON ESTO ES PGA TOUR LATINOAM?RICA!SEGMENT FOURREJOIN:ESTO ES PGA TOUR LATINOAMERICA!MOLINO CA?UELAS CHAMPIONSHIP SET UP AND RECAPWHAT DO YOU GET WHEN YOU COMBINE THE BEAUTY OF BUENOS AIRES WITH THE PASSION OF PGA TOUR LATINOAM?RICA?!?THE MOLINO CA?UELAS CHAMPIONSHIP, THE SECOND STOP ON THE ZURICH ARGENTINA SWING!WHERE 144 PLAYERS FROM 17 DIFFERENT COUNTRIES CAME TO COMPETE AT CA?UELAS GOLF CLUB. STARTING THE DAY JUST TWO OFF THE LEAD, HE HAD ONE THING IN MIND: STAY FOCUSED.BAIK SOT: Arranque con muchos nervios. Pero bueno trate a tranquilizarme y lo dije en los manos de Dios y bueno, pude hacer un buen approach putt en el primer hoyo y eso me dio un poco de incentivo para el segundo hoyo y bueno seguí en el segundo hoyo.I started off really nervous. But I relaxed, and I left it in the hands of God. Had a good approach on the first hole and that gave me a bit of incentive for the second and I went on from there. BUT BAIK WASN’T THE ONLY ONE CHASING THE LEADERS. AFTER OPENING ROUNDS OF 66 AND 70, AND ALSO JUST TWO OFF THE LEAD AT THE BEGINNING OF THE FINAL ROUND, MATT GILCHREST WAS ALSO MAKING A CHARGE FOR THE TROPHY.GILCREST SOT: I was playing really well the first day, I had a few bad holes before the delay yesterday so it was a good mental challenge to play well today. AS THE FINAL ROUND PROGRESSED, BOTH BAIK AND GILCHREST FOUND THEMSELVES TIED AT 9-UNDER AT THE TURN. A TEMPORARY LEAD FOR BAIK ON THE BACK NINE MADE IT SEEM LIKE THE DAY WOULD BE HIS, BUT A BOGEY ON 12 – HIS ONLY BOGEY OF THE TOURNAMENT – OPENED THE DOOR FOR GILCHREST. Pero ahora bueno se me abrirían muchas puertas. Es una motivación mas porque ahora empiezo a pensar más acerca del Web y bueno seguir trabajando duro.I always had it in my mind and hoped for, but it came at just the right time. And now I think the door for opportunities has opened. It’s an added motivator, because now I can think about the possibility of the Tour. But for right now I have to keep working hard. THE VICTORY WAS BAIK’S FIRST ON PGA TOUR LATINOAM?RICA, AND HIS BEST FINISH IN 32 CAREER STARTS.BAIK SOT: Para mí el tour Latinoamericano es algo muy bueno, la verdad que incentiva muchos jugadores para el futuro, te ayuda mucho en tu nivel de juego, grandes jugadores, y bueno es un honor estar jugando en este turno.?For me PGA TOUR Latinoamérica is great. It gives a lot of incentives for players, and for the future. It has great players, and honestly I’m very honored to be a part of this tour. ?????WITH THE WIN, BAIK BREAKS IN TO THE TOP 5 ON THE ORDER OF MERIT, SHARING A TIE FOR 4TH WITH ABIERTO OSDE DEL CENTRO CHAMPION, CRISTOBAL DEL SOLAR. THEY FOLLOW BEN POLLAND, WHO WON EARLIER THIS YEAR IN GUATEMALA…MATT GILCHREST, WHO’S EARNED TWO TOP-2 FINISHES ALREADY THIS SEASON…AND AUSTIN SMOTHERMAN, WHO’S TWO TOP-15’S PLUS A VICTORY IN MEXICO HAS HIM HOLDING DOWN THE NUMBER ONE SPOT!!NEW EVENT ANNOUNCEMENTIN APRIL, PGA TOUR LATINOAM?RICA ANNOUNCED A NEW STOP ON THE ZURICH ARGENTINA SWING IN PATAGONIA. WARFIELD SOT Many of us hear about Patagonia for years but we end up going to Buenos Aires all the time which is a great experience but Patagonia is a recognized region of the world so we’re very excited to bring one of our golf tournaments here.FOCARAZZO SOT: Es fundamental el desarrollo que ha plantado el gobierno de la provincia de Neuquén de posicionamiento internacional, y de mostrar esta plaza turística, como competitiva y de calidad.? ?For the government of the Neuquén Province, this is a great partnership that places us in an international light and demonstrates that this is not only a beautiful tourist destination but also a place for high quality competition. ?THE NEUQU?N ARGENTINA CLASSIC WILL BRING THE BEST OF PGA TOUR LATINOAM?RICA SOUTH TO NEUQU?N TO COMPETE AT CHAPELCO GOLF CLUB – THE FIRST AND MOST RENOWNED GOLF COURSE DESIGNED BY JACK NICKLAUS IN LATIN AMERICA!WITH THIS ANNOUNCEMENT, PLUS THE ADDITION OF THE ABIERTO MEXICANO DE GOLF IN TIJUANA, PGA TOUR LATINOAM?RICA NOW COVERS THE WHOLE OF LATIN AMERICA!
