SCORING THE INTERPERSONAL SCHEMA QUESTIONNAIRE

RESPONSES
Responses can be recoded to reflect the amount on control (CON) and affiliation (AFF) they represent.

Each response can also be counted, so that subjects receive a score for the number of times they endorsed response A, etc.
DESIRABILITY
To score for desirability of situations, calculate a mean score of desirability ratings for the situations of interest.
To score for desirability of responses, calculate a score representing the mean desirability ratings for each time a response is endorsed.
CONSISTENCY
For each situation, subjects are given a score of 1 if responses for all three significant others are the same, otherwise they are given a score of 0. Mean consistency scores can then be calculated.
COMPLEMENTARITY
Responses can be recoded to reflect their complementarity within each situation.

SUBMISSIVE subscale: include situations 3 (I), 7 (J), 14 (H).
HOSTILE subscale: include situations 2 (E), 6 (F), 13 (D).
MOTHER subscale: include all situations with mother.
FATHER subscale: include all situations with father.
FRIEND subscale: include all situations with friend.
Scores for RESPONSES, DESIRABILITY, CONSISTENCY, and COMPLEMENTARITY can be calculated within the subscales.
