righttop Grant GuidelinesActive Youth Enfield |Grant Guidelines?1,500 - ?2,000Closing date | 21st January 2021Active Youth Enfield | Grants 2021Enfield Voluntary Action has been awarded ?20,000 by London Sport to make grants for projects that bring inactive or less active young people aged 14 - 19 in the London Borough of Enfield into regular physical activity or sport.The chance to engage in physical activity and / or sports has been severely limited for young people during Covid19 restrictions. This grants programme aims to help local community groups and Community Amateur Sports Clubs address the physical and mental health consequences of inactivity and isolation.'Towards an Active Nation' sets out Sport England's model, along with the latest research, and strategies on how to engage less active or inactive participants.You should familiarise yourself with this research and some of the associated strategies before developing your project and completing your application.How much can you apply for?Grants of ?1,500 - ?2,000 are available for projects that meet the guidelines.You can apply for costs associated with an existing project or to initiate a new project. You will need to show how the rest of your project is funded or will be funded in the future.Which projects can be funded?Projects should aim to engage previously inactive or less active young people in regular physical activity.Projects must be focused on 14 – 19 year olds and shouldprovide new opportunities to get active and regularly take part in physical activity or sport in a convenient and enjoyable environment;be designed around the needs of young people; give a positive, fun experience of being active; andgive young people the confidence to take part.Projects which engage under-represented groups including, but not limited to, for example - inactive girls and young women, deaf and disabled young people, young people with learning disabilities, or young people from lower socio-economic groups, - will be particularly welcomed. Your group should have a track record of engaging your chosen target audience.Projects must be young-person-led, including involving them in decisions and design.Projects should show an understanding of the different barriers and motivations to young people taking part in physical activity and sport.Projects should engage a minimum of 75% previously inactive young people.Projects should be aligned to achieving the?Chief Medical Officers recommendation?of delivering moderate to vigorous intensity activity.?Projects should engage the young people weekly for at least 1 hour per week for 30 weeks, and be committed to deliver the project beyond that.Projects should have the right workforce in place and have techniques to support your project after the initial funding period; such as generating income and in-kind support.Projects must have access to an appropriate venue / space for delivery.Youth PersonalitySport England’s report into youth personalities can help you understand the young people you’re trying to reach. It is not essential to read the full report before making your application. Grant conditions may includeRevising the budgetUpdating safeguarding / policiesSuggesting partnerships with other projectsAddressing areas of weakness in an applicationOther conditions which the Grants Panel may agree are necessaryMonitoring and EvaluationMonitoring and evaluation requirements will be as straightforward as possible, bearing in mind our responsibility to ensure that the funds are well-distributed, and that we can monitor the proper use of funds awarded to us for this grants programme. EVA will support grant holders with their monitoring, spend, and ongoing evaluation.Grants PanelA Grants Panel of 4 representatives from the voluntary and community sector in Enfield will consider all eligible applications and decide whether projects can be funded, how much funding they should receive, and whether any conditions should be applied to the grant award. All members of the Grants Panel will receive training on criteria and fair assessment from an independent trainer prior to the Panel meeting.EVA’s Chief Executive and Administrative and Finance Officer will attend the Panel Meeting in an advisory capacity and to record the decisions of the Grants Panel only. The Chair of EVA Trustees will attend as an observer. No member of EVA staff or trustees will take part in the decision-making process.Members of the Grants Panel may be drawn from groups who have applied for a grant, but they will be required to withdraw from the Panel while their group’s application or any group with which they are associated is being discussed.All members of the Grants Panel will be required to agree a confidentiality statement and a conflict of interest statement.Find out more and how to apply to sit on the Grants Panel.Payment ProcessSuccessful projects will receive their funding in instalments upon accurate return of their monitoring requirements, which will be set out in an offer of grant letter.Project timetableIf funded by this grants programmeyour project can start from 1st February 2021. your project must be delivered weekly for at least 1 hour per week for 30 weeks.Funding WorkshopEVA will hold a Funding Workshop to provide further information, to look at the application form, and to answer any questions you may have.The Funding Workshop will be online on 8th December 2020 from 10am to 12 noon at the Youth Activities Forum via Microsoft Teams.
