Word of the week - tall233172035115500This week’s focus will be time, looking at where we might find the time and the numbers on a clock. Can you go on a hunt around your house for objects that tell the time? What did you find? A clock, a watch, the clock on the oven or microwave, a phone etc. Discuss what the numbers mean.Children to organise numbers one to twelve like a clock face. Sing the song Hickory Dickory Dock and choose a time. Help your child to use two sticks or spoons as the hands to write the time. 318833517653000Repeat with a different time.Create their own clock using the activity below, cut out and order the numbers on the clock and using a split pin or blue tac to hold the hands to change the time.Or you could create your own with a paper plate or paper.These are additional Mini-challenges to try and complete across the week:Fine Motor Skills Expressive arts and Design Understanding the world-4022148200Using chalk to create a fire on the floor or a wall. If you do not have access to a printer can you draw some lines on a piece of paper for your child to cut along. Paint your hands using oranges, reds and yellows to create your own fire handprints. You can use your foot with brown paint to create your wood or alternatively you could use real sticks/twigs with glue or colour it with felt tips or crayons.
