Veja a tradução da música em
Prepare com antecedência cópias da canção, das atividades propostas e do arquivo do videoclipe para utilizar nas suas aulas.
1ª Etapa: Apresentação do trailer e discussão inicial.
Apresente os 2 minutos iniciais do trailer do filme Cidade dos Anjos. Após os 2 minutos de apresentação é possível fazer um ‘brainstorm’ sobre a história. Aproveite para apresentar alguns dados como Diretor, ano de produção, etc.
2ª Etapa: A canção.
Distribua as cópias da canção a cada aluno e convide-os a preencher a letra enquanto ouvem a gravação. Se necessário repita.
3ª Etapa: Correção e apresentação do vídeoclipe.
Faça a correção coletiva da atividade. Se a sala dispõe de data-show, projete a atividade e faça o preenchimento com o auxílio das sugestões dos alunos.
Na sequência apresente o videoclipe e proponha a questão:
“Have you seen this movie? What do you know about the story?”
Registre no quadro respostas dos alunos e ajude-os na produção de respostas completas.
4ª Etapa: Trabalho com o vocabulário.
Proponha aos alunos a atividade 1 da ficha impressa
Após a correção no quadro, destaque as palavras ‘endlessness’, madness e sadness e explique o sufixo -ness, que transforma o adjetivo em substantivo abstrato. Dê mais alguns exemplos com outros adjetivos.
5ª Etapa: Interpretação.
Convide os alunos devem interpretar a música tendo o filme como contexto. Os alunos provavelmente interpretarão o anjo como o próprio anjo do filme e os temas amor, vida e morte estarão presentes também. Os grupos devem discutir e redigir a interpretação. A correção deve ser em grupo e oral.
6ª Etapa: Leitura e interpretação de texto.
Proponha ao grupo a leitura do trecho a seguir. Você pode distribuir cópias ou projetá-lo.

7ª Etapa: Identificação das metáforas da canção.
Tendo como ponto de partida a leitura da intenção da compositora, descrita no exercício 3, peça aos alunos que retomem o texto da canção e identifiquem as metáforas. Você pode exemplificar alguma ou levantar previamente o conceito de metáfora com a turma. Então, proponha que façam o exercício 4 da ficha.
8ª Etapa: Produção de parágrafo argumentativo.
Em grupos de 4 alunos, peça que completem a lista com argumentos possíveis a favor ou contra a legalização do uso de drogas utilizando o vocabulário dado como suporte (exercício
