The most recent post in the series features Ferndale, Mich., Lodge No. 1588. Between nightly happy hours, community service, and the T-Rex Walking Club, the Ferndale Elks are having a blast, all while staying safe and supporting their community.Learn More: Get inspired by the Ferndale Lodge at enf.HavingFun. Gratitude Grants range from $2,000-$3,000 dollars, and our Lodge is eligible to receive one if we reached the National President’s per-member-giving goal in the past fiscal year. If 15 percent or more of our members gave $10 or more in the past fiscal year, we get an extra $500 on the grant. Now, if 10 percent or more of our members donate, and 10 percent of those members are in the Fidelity Club, we earn an additional $500 in grant funds—if we reach both metrics, we’re eligible for a $3,000 Gratitude Grant! We can earn both bonuses, or one or the other.Learn More: Visit enf.GratitudeGrants to learn more about the Gratitude Grant. Shining a LightWhat to Say: Since Gratitude Grant applications opened on April 1, the ENF has approved more than 650 Gratitude Grant projects, giving more than $1.1 million to Elks communities. But the pandemic’s effects are ongoing. That’s why, on June 1, the ENF allocated an additional $3.7 million in Spotlight Grants to continue shining a light on COVID-19 relief. Spotlight Grants are intended to fund off-the-shelf projects for specific focus areas determined by the Community Investments Program. This year, Lodges also will have the option to donate their Spotlight Grant funds to pandemic relief efforts.
