Welcome to another busy programme of shows to take us through to Spring 2019.I’m delighted to announce a first for our venue with the musical, GHOST. Described as ‘even more spectacular than the original film’ by the Evening Times, this West End touring production is sure to appeal to Forum patrons. Comedy is always popular in ourvenue and, this season, we continue our usual high standard with performers such as JAKE O’KANE, DAVID O’DOHERTY, NEIL DELAMERE and TOMMY TIERNAN as well as COLIN MURPHY and the renowned PAUL MERTONwho joins us in April.We play host to many diverse music performers over the next few months beginning with HOMEGROWN, our celebration of the finest bands that Derry has to offer in January; while the ULSTER ORCHESTRAreturns in the same month with their VIENNESE CONCERT. THE TRANSATLANTIC SESSIONS make a welcome return this season as does acclaimed vocalist, TOMMY FLEMING. NATHAN CARTER is back to entertain his many Derry fans in April. Dance is popular with a large part of our audience and I am delighted to welcome the world renowned Moscow Ballet with SWAN LAKE, while Irish dance show, RHYTHM OF THE DANCE returns in April. We have drama with the Derry Playhouse’s THE BOG COUPLE in January. I am thrilled to welcome acclaimed playwright and actress Marie Jones with FLY ME TO THE MOON in February. A signed performance is the usual full production with the addition of a British and Irish Sign Language Interpreter who stands side stage interpreting the show for deaf attendees.WHAT IS A CAPTIONED PERFORMANCE? Open captioning allows theatre goers with varying degrees of hearing to view the full text as it is spoken or sung, including sound effects and off stage noises.
