For this craft you will need:
an old shirt and newspaper to protect your clothing and work area. toilet tissue roll brown paper (large enough to cover the ends of the tp roll.) wood shavings brown tempera paint wall paper paste nativity candle ribbon, small poinsettias, holly leaves etc. to decorate the log.
Steps:
Stuff the tp roll with newspaper. This will prevent it from collapsing.
Make circles from the brown paper large enough to cover the ends.
Snip into the circles. It will be easier to glue the edges down.
Draw circles on the paper so it looks like rings on a tree.
Poke a hole in the center of the tp roll large enough to put the candle in.
Make a mixture of wood shavings, brown tempera paint, and wallpaper paste.
Apply this mixture to the tp roll
Add candle and decorations
Let dry. It may take a couple of days for it to dry all the way through.
