Verify Requirements

Exercise 1: Prepare the Server

On the Server

In class: Perform the following steps on the REMOTE1 server.

Confirm that the server is using a supported operating system and has an adequate processor and enough memory

On your server, select System from the Windows Control Panel.

Ensure that either Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2008, or Windows 10 is installed.

Ensure that the processor is at least a Pentium 4 running at 2GHz and that the server has at least 8GB of RAM.

Disable the Windows Sharing Wizard

1. On the server, open a Windows Explorer window and select View > Options > Change folder and search options to display the Folder Options dialog.

2. Select the View tab.

3. If necessary, clear the Use Sharing Wizard check box.

4. Click OK to save your changes and close the Folder Options dialog.
