5th Class: 11th – 15th May 2020Hi to everyone in 5th Class, I hope you are all keeping well and not too upset about missing your friends and school-life in general. Hopefully you will have settled into your new normal and are managing to create a new daily routine for yourself. It’s not the summer holidays yet so I’ve laid out a schedule for this coming week. Do your best to do a little English and Irish reading everyday along with your Mental Maths. I can’t stress enough how important READING is. Childrensbooksireland.ie has a recommended reads list for 2019/2020 for different age categories. Paste this link into your address bar and look at pgs 42 – 64 (ages 9-11 and 12-14) for ideas. week I’m uploading your Busy at Maths Easter assessment – it will give you an idea of where you are at and what you should hopefully be able to do. Use your Maths Facts book, the back of your Mental Maths to help you if you need to. Unfortunately because we haven’t been in school, you haven’t had as much practice at doing the sums as you normally would have. Maths needs plenty of time given to it, working out problems, practicing the same kind of sums over and over. This week I am asking you to upload to swhitneyschoolwork@ if you can….. Your answers to the Busy at Maths Easter assessment (complete throughout the week on a single page if you can and send on Friday)Your chosen Irish Olympic medal winner – Short biography (read on for more information!)Your Book Cover for the Boy in the Striped PyjamasFeel free to email me if you have any queries, questions or if you want clarification on anything. Thank you for sending on work this week – don’t worry if you didn’t manage to send anything yet, you can do it in your own time. Both Aaron and Diarmuid picked inspirational Sports Stars for their project – I thoroughly enjoyed learning more about Kobe Bryant and CJ Stander. 2 well researched projects. I really like watching both basketball and rugby so I always have an interest in learning more about specific players and their livesThanks to Hazel and James for their facts on Edward Jenner – hopefully the Scientists of today can develop a vaccine against Covid-19 in the near future.GAEILGEMATHSENGLISHDé LuainLink to Litriú – 4 litriú gach lá.
