CHUCK MORE sent a family photo, along with an update: “I retired from civil service in 2007 with 42 years federal service, which goes back to our swearing-in day on July 12, 1965. However, I’m still working for the Coast Guard as a part-time consultant, providing project technical design support to CEU Providence for energy savings projects. I average two days a week, which allows enough time to keep up our horse farm in southern Rhode Island while cutting my golf handicap. PAULA and I have two married daughters and four grandkids, aged 9, 10, 11 and 12; two grandsons and two granddaughters. PAULA’s father (age 93) lives with us on Punch Hill Farm, having recently moved in after 50 years in Gales Ferry.”

The ZEIGLERS and WILDERS met in Louisville, Kentucky over the Christmas holiday and had lunch together. FRED sent a photo of the occasion, which shows JOHN, CAROL and son Todd with his wife Amy, along with FRED, TERRY, son Ben and daughter Shannon.

I forwarded the 2011 Commander Assignment panel results to a few classmates, noting that I recognized the names of two (Greg Magee, CO, CGC Vigorous and Mark Vlaun, Marine Corps War College). GREG MAGEE replied: “I only recognize a few names as well. And I concur with your comment about the new names for billets and units. I wish I had the ball cap concession.”

DANA JURGENS passed the following: “Our daughter Karen was married in 2003 to Zack Davidson. They have a beautiful daughter, our first grandchild, Alayna, who is now three. Our son Mike married Laura in 2009. Karen and Zack are living with us after their recent move from Colorado, and Mike and Laura live in Newport News. BILL is still working at Newport News Shipbuilding and I still teach middle school. We think that retirement will be soon but we continue to work. Some say work keeps you young, but it’s hard to get up some mornings to go out in the cold.” The attached photo was taken in March 2010.

JIM and CINDY BURK visited their daughter and family in San Antonio in February and stayed with PABLO and LINDA RODRIGUES. PABLO and LINDA both retired, moved from Maryland and built a beautiful hacienda in the Texas Hill Country overlooking Canyon Lake. JIM commented: “An incredible view with eight point bucks and a gaggle of does wandering through the backyard and a truly “cool” Man Cave! They are doing well. He almost promised to make a reunion!”

JACK MCGOWAN sent a photo of his clan during their celebration of the Christmas holidays in Scottsdale, Arizona.

I announced some baby arrivals in the February Bulletin, and now I have photos to go with the announcements. ANDY and ANN ANDERSON welcomed their first grandchild, Harper Elizabeth Bogue, on January 14, 2010. The photo of ANDY and Harper was taken in May 2010. JIM and PATTI DOHERTY are the proud grandparents to grandchild number eight, fourth granddaughter, Ciara Leigh Doherty, born June 22, 2010. The attached photo was taken in October shortly after Ciara’s baptism.
