FIRST QUARTER 10 EVENTS - WE HAD A BLAST!

[pic]

The first quarter of 2010 was a very good one for the Philadelphia BTA. Since 2010 is an election year for the PBTA, in February, we held our first chapter meeting of

the year at the Holiday Inn Historic District. Our program, "It's Your Chapter" recapped the current state of the chapter, the Philly BTA's accomplishments over the

previous two years, chapter goals for 2010 and an overview of the various PBTA committees.  Officers, board members and committee chairs were introduced and the

purpose of each committee was reviewed. We also surveyed those attending with each respondent being invited to submit ideas and suggestions to help make the chapter

even better.  Following the main presentation, round table discussions were held for each committee to offer members & guests the opportunity to volunteer and become

more involved. All in all, it was a great success and everyone who attended found the meeting to be very worthwhile. Our thanks to Allison Cole and the Holiday Inn

Historic District for hosting and providing such terrific food and facilities.

In March, the aka Rittenhouse Square hosted our Winter Mixer, the first of our popular social gatherings for 2010. Over 40 attended and the aka provided wonderful

food & drink, all in the elegance of one of the aka’s stunning penthouse suites. Many thanks to Kelly Betley and the aka Rittenhouse Square for a most wonderful

evening!

Notes From The President

[pic]

The second quarter of the year is already half over and the Philadelphia BTA continued it’s great run with a very busy and productive first five months. In February we reviewed the accomplishments of the PBTA with our meeting, “It’s Your Chapter!” and reminded everyone that 2010 is an election year for us. In March, we were treated to a wonderful evening at the aka Rittenhouse Square for our Winter Mixer, the first of our popular social gatherings. And, most exciting of all, the PBTA sponsored our first ever Education Day. It was a huge success with over 70 attending. Our thanks go to Education Day co-chairs Tom Wilkinson of TRW Travel and Patty Pae of American Express and the entire Education Day Committee, Lori Goldstein of the Crown Plaza, Tom Roberts of Boscov’s Business Travel, Giovanna Celia-Wheatly of Continental Airlines, Fiona Flagler of Cephalon, Inc. and Collette DeChalus Lee of the Royal Bank of Scotland. Their tireless efforts ensured that this event was world class in every way.

And we have two great events coming up. In just a few days, we will have our second chapter meeting of the year at the Four Seasons and in June, our next social gathering, the PBTA Summer Mixer sponsored by Southwest Airlines. Details and registration information are in the box just to the right.

Lastly, the NBTA National Convention is August 7 -11 in Houston, so if you plan to attend you’d better sign up soon, as hotel space is almost sold out!
