2.1 OBITUARY

During a major sporting event at a stadium, a terrorist group/group of protestors

took five athletes hostage. During the rescue operation, one of the athletes,

who had recently announced his/her retirement from athletics, was fatally

wounded. Write the obituary for this celebrated athlete.

2.3 FORMAL REPORT

Learners at your school have been guilty of vandalising school property on a regular basis. Your principal has instructed you to investigate the situation and make recommendations regarding the prevention of such incidents. You are also required to propose appropriate measures to address this unacceptable behaviour.

Write the report you will submit to the Chairperson of the Governing Body and

the principal of your school.

The world is facing a water crisis and, as a member of your school's Environmental Club, you feel strongly that the municipality needs to consider measures to save and recycle water. You believe that a water recycling plant would be the ideal solution in your community.

Write a letter to the mayor of your town requesting that the municipality

consider the construction of such a plant.
