Katie shared that here will be a Peer Recovery conference at Stoney Creek in Onalaska on 8/1 and 8/2. Scholarships available for registration and one night of lodging if needed. Monroe Co. Child Abuse Prevention Task force will be holding a learning opportunity for the community on May 8th to bring child abuse, sexual assault and human trafficking awareness to the community (flier attached). TMH’s Women’s Health night has been rescheduled for May 7th. Will also be sponsoring a longest Day event on June 5th. Flier attached. In April, Ho Chunk opened a transitional Living facility for females. They are able to stay 3-5 days and then transfer to residential treatment. Hoping to open a facility in Necedah for males. May 29th at noon is the La Crosse County Awareness walk. NAMI- Family to Family begins 9/5. 12 sessions. Free Families supporting other families living with mental illness. OtherAllChris and Carrie stated that they have seen an increase in suicidal ideation among teenage girls. There are about 3 chapters/week at Mayo. Most have a hx of MH issues. Many are repeaters. Transportation has been an issue as well as treatment options. Katie shared information on the Peer recovery specialists who may be able to help in the interim between established care with provider.
