Conestoga Valley School District

Welcome to Fifth Grade!

This will be the only letter sent home regarding supplies, so please hold on to this!

YOU MUST READ FOUR BOOKS THIS SUMMER-be ready to share one during our first week together!

Practice Math Facts. We will not be practicing addition and subtraction in fifth grade, but we will start with multiplication. If you are not strong in addition and subtraction facts, you should continue to practice them over the summer. Flash cards (Dollar Store) are great, but is a free online practice site.

We will be checking school email over the summer, feel free to contact us with questions, concerns, or just to tell us what you are doing this summer!

Thanks,

Ms. Diehl, Ms. Haines, Mrs. MacDonald-Mellish, Mrs. Souders

-----------------------

The following items are needed for the first day of school:

✓ A 3 inch ring binder or larger, no zippers – yes it is large! If you go smaller, their ‘stuff’ won’t fit. (It is wise to invest in a good one, so it does not need replacing later. The ones that hold up the best are the kind from Staples that have a bit of rubbery plastic as the binding)

✓ A pencil pouch/case that fits/attaches in a three ring binder (not the plastic box kind)

✓ 4 dry erase markers

✓ 1 pair of ear buds (importanpair of ear buds (important for sanitary reasons) (labeled if possible)

✓ 1 box of colored pencils

✓ At least three pencils at all times (stock up now 😊)

Appreciated, but not necessary – a box of tissues and/or disinfecting wipes Recommended for at home – a calculator

Please do not buy/bring the following items, they are not needed, nor are they necessary.

*folders *spiral notebooks *pens *crayons *markers
