Medication guidelines before Coronary Angiogram

Coumadin/Warfarin Stop 5 days before angiogram.

Elliquis/Apixiban Hold 48 hours before angiogram

Pradex/Dabigatrin Stop 2 days before angiogram with normal renal function Otherwise check with receiving MD if creatinine in greater than 100 or GFR less than 60.

Xarelto/Rivaroxaban Stop 2 days before angio with normal renal function. Otherwise check with receiving Phyisican if Creatinine in greater than 100 or GFR less than 60.

Brilinta/Ticagrelor May continue on this medication

Aggrenox (asprin/dipyridamole) Skip the morning dose day of procedure and evening dose prior to procedure.

Effient/Prasugrel May continue on this medication

Aspirin May continue on this medication

Plavix May continue on this medication

Metformin Hold 48 hours before and 48 hours after procedure.

Insulin Adjusted per referring Physician's instructions

Dalteparin inject. Hold for 24 hours before procedure

Enoxaparin inject. Hold for 12 hours before procedure
