Without them we simply wouldn’t be here. Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 8th, and we will honor our mothers in the morning worship service that day. Graduates – Graduation is a part of moving forward in life. During worship on Sunday, May 22nd we will recognize our three graduating seniors from Greenbrier East High School—Kari, Reece, and Brennan. These youth have been a part of our church for most, if not all, of their lives. We want to celebrate with them as church family members their success in this important accomplishment. After worship on May 22nd we will continue the celebration with a pot-luck meal in their honor in Fellowship Hall. Make plans to be a part of this day of worship and celebration.44005501440180Memorials – Memorial Day is about remembering those who have loved us and whom we have loved. Since I will be out of town on Memorial Day weekend, we will move our memorial service to the first Sunday in June. If you would like to honor a loved one who has passed away during this last year, please provide me with a picture for use in our service on June 5th. 372110-3143251Communion Sunday S School ~ 9:45aWorship ~ 11a234Bible Study~ 6:30pChoir ~ 7:30p5Ruth Thurmond Circle ~ 1pm678S School ~ 9:45aWorship ~ 11a-9525704859House & Grounds ~ 7pm1011Bible Study~ 6:30pChoir ~ 7:30p12Finance Team~7pm131415S School ~ 9:45aWorship ~ 11aOfficial Bd. ~ noon16 1718Bible Study~ 6:30pChoir ~ 7:30p19Pack Food Pantry ~9am20Food Pantry~9am21-45085127022S School ~ 9:45aWorship ~ 11a4714883810GraduateRecognition Luncheon ~ noon2324AARPDriverSafety~ 9a-1p25AARPDriver Safety ~ 9a-1pBible Study~ 6:30pChoir ~ 7:30p26272829S School ~ 9:45aWorship ~ 11a3031The May Men’s Community Prayer Breakfast is cancelled since we had a Resurrection Breakfast at River of Life on April 23rd. In the book Choosing to See: A Journey of Struggle and Hope (Revell), Mary Beth Chapman describes how she wrestled with God when her “whole world” fell apart.“What I’ve found is that it’s in the most unlikely times and places of hurt and chaos that God gives us a profound sense of his presence and the real light of his hope in the dark places,” she writes.“None of my tears have been wasted,” Chapman says, because she’s “experienced the kindness, sweetness, faithfulness, and redemptive heart of God.”To honor their daughter, the Chapmans, longtime adoption advocates, established Maria’s Big House of Hope. The center in Henan, one of China’s poorest provinces, provides life-saving medical care for special-needs orphans.AARP Driver Safety Course3476625313690This program is for persons fifty and older.
