Job Description:

OR Support Services Supervisor:

 

MAIN FUNCTION:

Responsible for the supervision of OR support service personnel and the following activities; Clinical support, OR patient escort, supply management, equipment management, infrastructure upkeep, and room turnover sanitation activities. Work collaboratively with nursing and surgical staff to promote the delivery of efficient, safe, and quality service.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1. Administrative:

1. Prepares individual and team assignments to meet daily workload; anticipates emergency requests, addition of new equipment and changes in practice.

 

1. Operations:

1. Prioritize daily activities to support the efficient flow of patient.

2. Implements contingency plans to ensure continued efficient work flow owing to absence, equipment, and material deficits.

3. Ensures the availability and efficient delivery of supplies and equipment.

 

1. Supervision:

1. Coordinates the recruitment and orientation of support personnel.

2. Prepares staff assignment schedules; manage vacations & other time off requests.
