Earlybird: 6:30 am Must arrive by 8:30 am

BRING:

Your smoker. Your gear. Your meat! No electric may be used.No propane! Bring a fire extinguisher and jugs for filling water!

SPACE SIZE: Fit 1 car and your gear. Approximately 20x20.

Hogging Up Backyard Application

RULES FOR ALL : No electric or propane cooking devices shall be used. You must cook on hardwoods, wood or charcoal grills or smokers only. No electric is provided. You must bring a fire extinguisher or you will not be allowed on the premesis . Bring water jugs you can fill at our hoses and a metal bucket so you may take your ash to our ashcans. No samples or sales to the public. Judging as close to KCBS manner as possible by a mix of real KCBS judges and guest VIP judges including community members and teachers! Arrive between 6:30am and 8:30 am on Sunday, June 29th and we will show you to your space. Your car may be parked behind your cook space. The award ceremony takes place on the main stage at 3pm, at which time our safety team will assist all cars to leave the lot. Cash Prize, TItle and Merchandise will be given to the Grand Champion and Runner Up (Reserve) in both Adult and Kids Category, for an updated list go to see our Backyard BBQ Page on . Event takes place rain or shine . We are raising money for the SPCA this year so thank you for your participation!

ADULTS/AMATEURS: Anyone age 15 or over at the time of the contest. If under 18 an adult must light your fire. You must bring everything you need to cook and turn in minimum 6 portions of Chicken at Noon and minimum 6 portions of Ribs (pork not beef) at 12:30. Please read the KCBS rules and look at pictures of how boxes are presented for turn in. Garnish optional. You are judged on Taste, Appearance, and Tenderness. Payout/Prizes in Grand Champion and Reserve Champion (runner up) spaces!

KIDS - Anyone age 8 to 14 at the time of the contest. Adults must light your fire and may oversee your actions but not help assist you during the preparation and cooking process.. You must present 6 portions any food in any way that has been cooked and prepped on site (example: present 6 mini slider burgers on disposable tray or in a turn in box, with or without garnish). You will turn in at 1:00 pm sharp. Judging: Creativity, Taste, Appearance Payout/Prizes in Grand Champion and Reserve Champion Only!

PRIZES: Over $400 in Sponsor gifts /prizes for competitors. Grand and Reserve Champion of each category gets a trophy. Please see "backyard tab" on Website as prizes may increase.
