DMBC ADULT, FAMILY AND COMMUNITY LEARNING
The following charges will apply to this learning provision from 1st August 2019 to 31st July 2020
All Providers must comply with the ESFA guidance linked to the Adult Education Budget (AEB) which forms the grant funding that Adult, Family & Community Learning service receives. Learners eligibility and funding as defined in the Funding Rules which can be found on the following website:
Our fee policy is based on the principle that learners who can afford to pay for learning should do so, and that funding should be available to those that need it the most. Many of our learning courses allow learners to access courses free of charge, or at a discounted rate in line with the principles set out within the funding rules.
Leisure Learning Programmes
Our leisure learning courses are designed enhance learners talents within a particular area. They are optional courses which support learners in developing positive relationships within the community, whilst learning new skills.
• There is a suggested minimum charge of £3.00 per hour and an expectation that all learners who are eligible to pay fees will be charged, except where the learners are attending a taster session (only up to 2 GLH)
• For learners in receipt of the benefits listed below the cost per hour will be reduced to £1.50 (proof of benefit will be required)
Work Ready/ Work Seekers
These courses are designed to support learners who are seeking learner experiences in order to support with their transition into employment. Learners must be unemployed in order to apply for these courses (proof of benefit will be required)
• There is no charge for learners on these programmes
Professional Development Courses
These courses are for learners, in employment, who want to develop their skills in line with employer requirements.

Personal Development
Our personal development courses are designed to build confidence, remove barriers and enable learners to progress on to positive additional outcomes, such as further learning, or employment
• There is no charge for learners on these programmes
Adult Education Budget (AEB) Programmes
The following benefits will attract the fee remission outlined in the above mentioned learning options:
• Job Seekers Allowance (JSA),
• Employment Support Allowance (ESA) and are in the Work Related Activity Group
• Universal Credit, earing less than £330 a month
• Pension Guranteed Credit (only)
• Carer’s Allowance
• NASS (National Asylum Seekers Support)
