Executive Director
Port Authority of New York and New Jersey

New York, NY 10048
Dear Mr. Boyle:
As you may know, the National Air Transportation Association (NATA) represents nearly 2,000 companies nationwide that provide a wide variety of services to the aviation industry including fuel sales, aircraft maintenance, aircraft parts sales, aircraft storage, aircraft management, and on-demand air charter. The NATA members at Teterboro Airport (TEB) include:
Air Charters Inc.
American International Aviation Corporation
Atlantic Aviation Corporation
First Aviation Services, Inc.
Flight Services Group
Jet Aviation
Jet Charter, Inc.
Million Air-Teterboro
Primac Air
Schiavone Air Charter
Signature Flight Support
This list does not include the thousands of NATA air charter operators that utilize the airport annually.
Our members have informed us that the Port Authority is proposing to ban operations with the Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) and other comparably sized new generation business jets (e.g. the A319CJ).
By being one of the largest general aviation airports in the country, TEB is a critical player in our nation’s air transportation system. Limiting access to TEB would force aircraft to divert to capacity-filled Newark International and LaGuardia Airports, thereby creating more air traffic congestion concerns for the area.

Rather than banning new generation business jets, the Port Authority should adopt an access policy that would permit the BBJ and other comparable business aircraft over 100,000 pounds to utilize TEB as long as these operations are Stage 3 compliant. NATA believes such a policy has considerable merit in preserving the critical role TEB plays in our national air transportation system.
Thank you for your attention on this matter, and we look forward to working with you to reach a resolution.
Sincerely,
James K. Coyne
President
