On May 10, 2019, at approximately 2:30 pm, officers from Downey Police Department and Bell Gardens Police Department were in pursuit of Dylan Andres Lindsey, a 24 year-old resident of Long Beach, and Alison Hart, a 37 year-old resident of Redondo Beach. Lindsey was the front, right passenger in a Toyota Prius being driven by Alison Hart during the pursuit. During the pursuit, Dylan Lindsey fired numerous rounds from a large caliber revolver at pursuing officers. Lindsey was wanted by Downey Police for a robbery/murder at a gas station in the city of Downey.

East Los Angeles Station Deputies and a Sheriff's helicopter joined the pursuit at the request of the Downey Police Department.

At the end of the pursuit, Hart and Lyndsey were stopped in heavy traffic. Dylan Lyndsey again reached out the window and fired at officers and deputies who had stopped behind the Prius. Two Downey Police Officers and four Sheriff's Deputies returned fire.

A standoff ensued for a period of time as both Lyndsey and Hart barricaded in the vehicle.

After assisting deputies arrived at the scene, Alison Hart surrendered and was taken into custody. Alison Hart was treated at the scene by Vernon Fire Department Paramedics. Hart sustained a gunshot wound to the arm and was transported to White Memorial Hospital where she was treated and released for transfer to the County Jail.

Dylan Lyndsey was ultimately taken into custody. He was treated at the scene by Vernon Fire Department Paramedics. Lyndsey sustained two gunshot wounds to the head and was transported to Los Angeles County USC Medical Center. He ultimately died of his injuries, which the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner ? Coroner, determined were self-inflicted.

An uninvolved civilian who was stopped in traffic was struck by gunfire. He sustained a graze wound to the head and was transported to a local hospital for treatment, and released. No officers or deputies were injured in the incident.

Investigators recovered a Taurus Raging Bull 454 Casull, .45 caliber, stainless steel revolver, with an 8" barrel, and extra ammunition, from inside the suspect vehicle.
