AUS DRIVER SAFETY TRAINING

TRAINING INSTRUCTIONS

With the current risk posed by COVID19, it is important to take precautions when performing the ride-along

evaluations (practical application) required as part of the AUS Driver Safety Training.

The instructor may choose to sit in the back seat. However, if a manager believes they can provide a useful

assessment of the SPs driving skills from a fixed position outside of the vehicle, then due to temporary safety

concerns, that exception can be made.

4 每 PRACTICAL APPLICATION FIELD TRAINING 每 RIDE-ALONG REQUIRED EVERY 6 MONTHS

After the initial ride-along has been completed to certify the student to operate the security vehicle, additional

ride-alongs are required to be performed every 6 months by a Supervisor or above for all employees working a

driving post.

Please remember: Officer Safety is the primary concern at all times. Do not perform activities that are hazardous

if these can be avoided or a safer alternative course of action is readily available.
