BMA Summer 2019 Event Internship - Amazon Web Services

BLANTON MUSEUM OF ART INTERNSHIP PROGRAM, SUMMER 2019

DEPARTMENT: Special Events REPORTS TO: Stacey Hoyt, Manager of Special Events HOURS: 8-10 per week

RESPONSIBILITY: To assist the Manager of Special Events in the development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of engaging and innovative special events. The special events intern will assist in all aspects of event planning and efforts to expand the museum's facility rental clientele. This includes conducting research and providing logistical support. As an additional member of the three-person Special Events team, the intern is given considerable responsibility and receives valuable work experience.

REQUIREMENTS: ? A strong interest in special event planning. ? Experience in event coordination. ? Current undergraduate or graduate student at the University of Texas or any other university. ? Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills. ? Ability to multi-task. ? Detail-oriented and a good problem solver with an ability to make quick decisions.

DUTIES: ? Assist the Blanton Museum special events team in event planning for events for the museum, including research, scheduling, facilitation, and coordination. ? Assist the Manager of Special Events and the Special Event Coordinator in event planning for external facility rentals. ? Work with other museum departments to coordinate special event logistics. ? Collaborate with PR/Marketing department and graphic designer to assist in publicity efforts and active event promotion. ? Work with full time and part time event staff acting as event support on the day of events. ? Help to maintain program files and budget tracking.

UPCOMING PROJECTS: ? Directors Circle private event on July 11 ? B scene public event on July 26. ? Events on Friday evenings and the Third Thursday of each month. ? Vendor and Client database upkeep. ? Archiving of previous events.
