The Hague is situated 45 kilometres south of Amsterdam Airport (Schiphol).

You can take the train to get to The Hague (Den Haag, in Dutch). Schiphol railway station is underground, and well-signposted within the airport. Take the train (from platform 5 or 6) to The Hague Central Station (Den Haag Centraal). The train ride takes between 34 and 40 minutes and runs six times per hour. Only twice per hour it is a direct connection, for the other connections one must change trains half way at Leiden Central Station. Train tickets are available from the yellow ticket machines near the platforms at Schiphol Plaza. A one way train ticket from Schiphol Airport to The Hague Central Station costs € 7,60 (second class). Train tickets are also available (at an extra cost of € 0,50) from the ticket offices, which are situated close to the red/white-checked meeting point at Schiphol Plaza. Staff at the ticket offices will also be able to provide you with train departure information. Taxis are available at Schiphol Airport and will cost about €75 each way.

In the central hall at The Hague Central Station tickets for the RandstadRail can be bought, which will take you to Statistics Netherlands. RandstadRail is a new regional public transport system providing direct connections between the city centres of The Hague (DH), Rotterdam and Zoetermeer (ZM). To travel to Statistics Netherlands, take RandstadRail line, 3, 3K, 4, 4K or E (the Erasmus line to Rotterdam) and get off at Leidschenveen station. When leaving the station, cross the footbridge to Statistics Netherlands' main entrance. The Erasmus line E starts next to the railway tracks, the other lines stop above the railway tracks of The Hague Central Station.You must buy your tickets for the Randstad Rail in advance as no tickets can be bought from the driver of the RandstadRail, .
