Brain Brochure
Objective:
To create a brochure that contains most of the information we learned about the Central Nervous System.
Procedure:
First step: Fill out the “FACTS” sheets for each section of the Brain Brochure. Each Part of the CNS needs 8 facts about it. The Overall CNS = 5 Facts
Cerebral hemispheres = 5 Facts
Cerebellum = 5 Facts
Diencephalon = 5 Facts
Brain Stem = 5 Facts
Neuron = + 5 Facts
30 Facts Total
**What counts as a FACT?**
A complete sentence that when read out loud makes sense and is informative. If you question whether that it is a good choice for a FACT—ask me!
Second step: Highlight 20 of the words that are found within the “FACTS” section. These will be used to create an alphabetized glossary at the end of your Brochure.
Third step: Building your Book: Grab two sheet of white paper and fold them in half (hamburger style: top to bottom). The order of the pages are as follows:
Cover = Your choice of Artistic drawing
Page 1 = The Overall CNS
Page 2 = Cerebral hemispheres
Page 3 = Cerebellum
Page 4 = Diencephalon
Page 5 = Brain Stem
Page 6 = Neuron
Page 7 = Glossary
Pages 1-6 must have a labeled picture of that part of the CNS.
This picture can be traced from your book or taken from the Internet, but it must be labeled.
How Graded: Neat and presentable 20 pts (must be in color)
How well you use class time 20 pts (don’t waste our time)
Content 60 pts (all pictures labeled, all facts relevant)
