JUDGE’S ASSIGNMENT

Roger Hartinger All Regular & Non-Regular classes for all Toy Dogs

Judging will not commence before 8:00 a.m. MDT. However, a later starting time may be announced. Non-regular classes will be judged at the breed and group level. Group judging will follow completion of the AKC all breed judging.

Show precincts shall be within 50 feet of the designated Specialty ring.

Please note that candid photos, win photos and / or videos may be taken on the show grounds by the Club, or its agents. Such images may be published in print or on a web-site without your consent. By entering this dog show, you waive all rights to such images and agree that the Club may use them for its promotional purposes without notice or compensation to you.

Cheques dated after close of entries will not be accepted. Returned cheques & declined credit cards will be assessed a $25.00 service charge (Chapter 8.8, C.K.C. Dog Show Rules).  Entries may be paid by Visa/MasterCard. Greyhound entries must be prepaid for delivery and will not be picked up.

Please do not send entries by Registered Mail. To comply with instructions issued by the Canadian Kennel Club, we will be unable to accept any entry reaching our Show Secretary after the closing time and date. Please allow ample time for delays in the mail.

ATTENTION U.S. EXHIBITORS: Current exchange rates favour the American dollar. To take advantage of this please, please pay by credit card, purchase bank drafts or money orders in Canadian dollars. Personal cheques will be accepted however, they must be payable for the FULL AMOUNT OF THE ENTRY, payable in U.S. funds. Discounted cheques will not be honoured. Do not mark personal cheques payable in Canadian funds or "at par".

Tendering of an NSF cheque in payment of entry fees will be considered non-payment of entry fees and is an offence punishable by CKC disciplinary action and cancellation of awards.

The owner of a dog entered in this show is entirely responsible for any error in the entering of his dog, regardless of how, or by whom the entry was made.

There will be no refunds on overpayments or duplicate entries

OBEDIENCE AWARDS: S.A.T.D.F. is pleased to award a prize and rosette to the Toy Dog achieving the highest qualifying score in the Alberta Kennel Club all-breed obedience trial on Sunday August 3, 2008.

AGILITY AWARD: The S.A.T.D.F. are pleased to award a prize and rosette to the Toy Dog achieving the highest qualifying combined score in the Alberta Kennel Club agility trials #1 and #2 on Sunday August 3, 2008. In case of a tie, the prize will be awarded to the dog with the lower accumulated time.

RALLY OBEDIENCE: The S.A.T.D.F. are pleased to award a prize and rosette to the Toy Dog achieving the highest qualifying score in the Alberta Kennel Club Rally-O Trial on Sunday August 3, 2008

CLASSIFICATIONS

The following CKC classes (divided by sex) will be provided:

Junior Puppy…….. for dogs 6 months of age but under 9 months of age

Senior Puppy……. for dogs 9 months of age but under 12 months of age

12-18 Months…… for dogs 12 months of age but under 18 months of age

Canadian Bred…... for dogs born in Canada; champions in any country excluded

Bred By Exhibitor... for dogs owned and handled in the ring by the breeder for this class, but need not handle the dog for further awards

Open……………… for all dogs.

Veteran…………… for any dog, 7 years of age or older on the day of the show. These dogs do not compete for Winners, but the winner of this class shall go on to compete for Best of Breed. DOGS COMPETING IN THIS CLASS MAY BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED.

Specials Only……. for any dog who is a Canadian Champion. A CKC Registration Number, or ERN or Miscellaneous Certification Number must be indicated on the entry form at time of closing The entry of a 'listed' dog in Specials Only is not allowed.

Exhibition Only…... dogs entered in this class may not compete in any Regular class but may enter and compete in Non-Regular classes and/or Parades if provided for in this premium list.

Exhibition Only ………puppies 3-6 months of age may be entered in Exhibition Only provided 3-6 Months the owner(s) has entered a dog in a Regular Official Class. These Puppies may not participate in any Regular, Non-Regular or Unofficial classes or Parades.

NON-REGULAR CONFORMATION CLASSES

Dogs entered in the following classes may be spayed/neutered and entered from a Regular class, Veterans Class, Specials Only or Exhibition Only

Brace Two dogs of one breed (either sex or mixed) not necessarily owned by the same owner, shown on one lead by one handler.

Stud Dog & Get Stud Dog & 2 or more of his get, not necessarily owned by the same person.

Brood Bitch & Progeny Brood Bitch & 2 or more of her Progeny, not necessarily owned by the same owner.

Please note: An exhibitor has the right to withdraw an entry up to the closing date and time as published in the premium list. This may be done by telephone but written or electronic notification must be received by the Show Secretary no later than the official closing date and time. If written notification is not received by that time, the dog will remain entered in the show.

GENERAL INFORMATION

1. Dog Show Rule books and Obedience Trial regulations are available from the Canadian Kennel Club. Cost is $6.00 plus GST per copy.

2. The Show Superintendent will be in full charge of the show which will be governed by CKC rules. All rules and regulations, as outlined in the Alberta Kennel Club premium list, will also apply to this specialty.

3. Entries will be acknowledged after entry closing, with receipt, judging schedule and exhibitor passes. If such acknowledgement is not received one week before the show date, please contact the Show Secretary.

4. “It shall be the duty and obligation of the show-giving club to see that a judge, club official, volunteer or any participant at an event held under these rules is not subject to indignities” – CKC rule book, Section 19.7

|ATTENTION ALL FOREIGN EXHIBITORS |

|Effective Jan/1992 all dogs that are foreign-born and foreign-owned and enter Canada for the sole |

|purpose of entering CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) events will no longer require a CKC registration number |

|but will require an ERN - Event Registration Number. This ERN does not register a dog with CKC for |

|breeding purposes as defined in the Animal Pedigree Act but rather enables a foreign-owned dog to be |

|awarded titles by the Canadian Kennel Club. Each dog must have its own number. To obtain an ERN, mail|

|or fax a photocopy of the dog's foreign registration certificate with cheque or VISA/MasterCard number |

|(expiry date, cardholder's name and signature). Provide your complete address for return of the ERN to|

|you. Cost is $55.00 plus GST. ERN MUST BE APPLIED FOR WITHIN 30 DAYS OF FIRST DAY OF ENTERING A CKC |

Our Judge: Roger Hartinger

Roger Hartinger’s first breed was Great Danes, but he and his wife Paula are best known as exhibitors and breeders of Standard Schnauzers. They have also bred Basset Hounds and Lakeland Terriers, and owned and exhibited West Highland White Terriers and Beagles. In 1975 he was granted judging approval by the AKC. Since that time he has judged extensively throughout the USA, Canada, and many other countries. In some countries he has been approved to judge All Breeds and has judged a number of FCI shows. Roger is a life member of the Clermont County and Cincinnati Kennel Clubs and has served as President and Show Chairman. He is Vice-President of the Dog Judges Association of America and a founding member of the OKI Dog Judges Workshop. He was an AKC delegate for 15 years, serving as chairman of the nominating Committee among other committee appointments. We are pleased to welcome Roger Hartinger as Judge for our 24th Annual Specialty.
