In a difficult year like this, there is an even greater need to make a concrete sign of belonging to the Church and of Love for the Pope, as a symbol of unity, even the smallest donations will help to support Pope Francis in his activities of teaching, guiding the Universal Church, and Charity.(Envelopes are attached to today’s bulletin or available on countertop in gathering space). *Pope Francis announced the Year of St. Joseph, to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the proclamation of St. Joseph as Patron of the universal church. This celebration will end on 8 December 2021. In this special year of St. Joseph all faithful, after his example, may daily reinforce their own life of faith in complete fulfilment of God’s will. In this year of St. Joseph, Plenary Indulgence is granted under the customary conditions (see bulletin insert, Page 1) to the faithful who, with a soul detached from any sin, shall participate in the Year of St. Joseph, in the occasions and with the modalities indicated by the Apostolic Penitentiary (see bulletin insert, Page 2). In the current context of health emergency the gift of the Plenary Indulgence extends particularly to the elderly, the sick, the suffering, and all those who for legitimate reasons are unable to leave the house, and who, with a soul detached from any sin and with the intention to fulfil, as soon as possible, the three customary conditions in their own home or wherever the impediment detains them, shall recite an act of piety in honor of St. Joseph, Comfort the Sick and Patron of a Happy Death, faithfully offering to God their suffering and the hardship of their life.Note:1. Copies of the Litany of St. Joseph are on the table at the back of the church.2. After Communion, we shall begin to recite the Prayer to St. Joseph, found in the back of the missalette holder. *3:00-5:00 PM-today, Sunday, Jan 31-RETREAT for 1st Reconcilation (2nd Grade & Parents)(3rd Grade & Parents also welcome) *4:00 PM- Wed, February 3-Holy Hour & Adoration. Call Dave Wheeler, Superintendent-701-696-2212"The root of communion is love of Christ who makes us overcome our prejudices to see in others a brother or sister to be loved always. Then we will discover that the Christians of other confessions — with their traditions, with their history — are gifts from God, they are gifts present within the territories of our diocesan and parish communities. Let us begin to pray for them and, when possible, with them."Pope Francis"The devil always divides. He always divides because it is convenient for him to divide. He fosters division everywhere, and in any way... In general, the devil does not tempt us with high theology, but with the weaknesses of our brothers and sisters. He is astute: he magnifies others’ mistakes and defects, sows discord, provokes criticism and creates factions. God has another way: He takes us as we are, he loves us so much, but he loves us as we are and takes us as we are; he takes those of us who are different, he takes sinners, and he always spurs us towards unity."Pope Francis"It is necessary to move beyond the complacent attitude that we “already know” certain things. Instead, we need to go and see them for ourselves, to spend time with people, to listen to their stories and to confront reality, which always in some way surprises us…“Come and see!”? This has always been the way that the Christian faith has been communicated, from the time of those first encounters on the banks of the River Jordan and on the Sea of Galilee."Pope Francis ................
