We discussed program review and how it may impede technology requests. Now we need to finalize proposal for technology review process for Fall; this is on our agenda for the first meeting.Establish a transparent funding and budgeting process for EVCExtensive report to College Council about CTC and funding technology; discussed current issues with Budget Committee; Began a process for making technology funding more transparent.CTC needs to advocate more fully for this with College Council and beyondUpdate our EVC Technology planCompleted our yearly addendum based on CTC discussions and decisions. Added new policies and procedures. Need to find a format for adding this information yearly to our Technology Plan.Facilitate better communication around technology between CTSS and the EVC campusTechnology was highlighted in Spring PDD day; it will also feature in Fall PDD. Eugenio developed form for asking technology questions of ITSS. CTC helped facilitate multiple 508 training sessions; Nasreen continues to offer Canvas workshops and her EDIT course. We need more coordination with District and with CTSS on how to communicate changes to campus computing (example: the official response to the phishing incident in May 2019)TOTAL: PERFORMANCESummarize progress on all 4 areas at the end of the academic yearFulfillment of Committee ChargeFulfilled our charge in all areas; extensive report to College Council; discussed computer replacement schedule; listened to issues faculty and staff have had with computing in classrooms and offices. Creative cloud advocacy; Canvas promotion; created topics and workshop themes for PDDCommunication to and from constituencies and campus community Technology surveys: students reviewed websites; EduCause survey of faculty Overall quality of the committee’s deliverables / outcomesThe committee delivered on its charge of recommendations; the outcome of this process is at times frustrating because we do not control the decisions made. Example: finding that the District decided not to hire support for faculty around AB 705 and related accessibility issues. Integration of committee process and products Our committee works well; discussions are inclusive and thoughtful; decisions are almost always consensus driven and evidence based; the committee prides itself on working well together and on transparency.REFlECTION2018-19 Accomplishmentsfuture recommendationsMembership: getting some unrepresented constituencies to attend and represent their areaMove on 508 issues in FallFinalize and adopt technology approval process in preparation for Fall CTSS will need to be integrated more fully in technology vettingFind ways to get more feedback from Divisions and Departments regarding current technology use, especially classroom and lab computing.
