|Bank Holiday Weekend Arrangements: |

|Our school will be closed to pupils on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday of next week. Children |

|return to school on Friday and we plan to have our SPORTS DAY up an An Riocht on FRIDAY 29th. May. |

|Confirmation: |

|We celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation in the parish on Monday and we congratulate the Primary 7|

|children on their work and engagement. |

|We thank all our parents for arranging for children to be collected early on this day to allow for |

|final preparations for the ceremony. We especially thank the children who attended as choir members |

|and instrumentalists, and their parents for taking them there. |

|Primary 2/3 Assembly: |

|Well done to the children in the P2/3 class who presented their assembly on Tuesday past. |

|Our final assembly of the year, the Primary 1 assembly will take place on Monday 15th June at |

|10.00am. We hope to see as many of our P1 parents and family members as possible on the morning. |

|Parent Governor: |

|Close for receipt of votes is today, Friday 22nd May. Further to this date, the clerk, Mr. Sean |

|Rogers will contact nominees to arrange a date for the counting of votes. If any parent has any |

|questions to ask , please contact the Principal, Mr. Mc Kinley. |

|Klbroney Cross Country: |

|This year’s event takes place on Tuesday 2nd June at 10.00am in Kilbroney Park. The event is open to|

|boys and girls from Primary 4-7. We plan to hold qualifying races today for those who have expressed |

|an interest and have returned the Permission Slip indicationg parents would be willing for their |

|child to attend and able to also ensure their transport to and from the event. |

|Sports Day 2015: |

|Our annual ‘Fun & Traditional Sports Day’ is scheduled to take place on Friday 29th May, up at An |

|Riocht, from 10.00am. As previously, all the children have been split into TEAMS with this year’s |

|theme being The Irish Open, coinciding with it being held at The Royal County Down at the same time. |

|We ask that each Team member has a chat with their teammates and that together they decide on a |

|colour of garment for their team and to find out a little about their’golfer’ who they will be |

|representing. Please also see the invite sent out in relation to the GAA Open Celebrity Football |

|match on Monday 25th in Newcastle. |

|ECO- Schools Beach Clean: |

|Please note that we now plan to have our Sponsored Environmental Beach Clean now on Monday 22nd June.|

|Last week, each child received an explantory letter and Sponsor Form to assist with the activity. |

|Many thanks to all those who have already raised some funds for this event. We hope all our |

|volunteers are able to help out on this rescheduled day. |

|Friends of Grange Meeting: |

|There will be a meeting of the Friends of Grange Parent Group on Monday 1st June at 7.00am. This |

|meeting will explore a major fundraising venture planned for October, later this year, and also |

|arrangements for our end of Year celebrations. |

|End of Year Trips: |

|All money in respect of pupils’ end of year outings should now be paid. |

|Tempest Photography: |

|All orders for photos taken will be sent away today, so as to allow for processing by the company |

|during their busiest month, June. Any further orders will need to be sent by parents directly to the |

|company. We ask that all orders / payments for |

|Post Primary School Notification: |

|All P7 parents should tomorrow receive a letter notifying them of their child’s school placement for |

|September 2015. All P7 parents recently received a letter detailing ‘contingency arrangements’ in |

|place on Saturday 23rd May, if parents fail to receive a letter in the post. |

|After School Clubs / Football at the Kingdom: |

|There will be NO coaching up an An Riocht on Wednesday 27th May (pupils off school). The next session|

|will be on Wednesday 3rd June. |

|Gaelic Sports: |

|This week, our footballers took part in St. Louis’ annual Gaelic competition for primary schools with|

|varying success. We now look forward to St. Columban’s Mc Kibben Shield/ Pat Rodgers and Netball |

|competitions in the hunt for silverware. |

|Ulster Orchestra Performance: |

|Faithful choir members will have received notification of our plans to attend this event on Wednesday|

|3rd June. Please return Permission Slips asap. |

|May Procession: |

|We held a beautiful May Procession in honour of Our Lady yesterday afternoon. Children from all |

|classes led the prayers and we all prayed The Rosary with many of the children using their rosary |

|beads to help. We were gratefully joined by some of our parents and family members on the day. Well |

|done to all concerned. |

|Lights, Camera, Confidence Drama Club: |

|Week 4 of the Drama Club will take place on Monday 1st June. |

|Pauline Burgess – Children’s Author: |

|Pauline, the children’s author who visited school recently, will launch her third book in the ‘Pony |

|Friends Forever’ series on Saturday 6th June, in Warrenpoint Library at 2.30pm. All are welcome to |

|come along. |

|Cycling Proficiency: |

|Many of the P7 pupils have been working away at their Cycling Programme with Ms Murphy and we had an |

|external assessor visit school on Wednesday. We wait in anticipation of the adjudicator’s report to |

|see if they are deemed ‘ Safe Cyclists’ |
