AP Exam Review Recommendations

Recommended review books and materials

AP Achiever for European History by Chris Freiler (look for a 2015 or 2016 copyright)

Modern European History by Birdsall S. Viault (I have some copies)

AP Euro Review CD by Robert Sanderson (I have copies)

How to review for the AP Exam.

Start in Chunks. Pick a topic or a person.

Spend 30 minutes each day as review.

Master the information on that person/topic….look at your notes and the information in your book (or review book).

Create study guides on that topic.

Practice writing at least once a week. Work on thesis statements and reviewing the DBQ rubric. Use your folder of essays to help you prepare. Work on those Historical Thinking Skills….Contextualization, Comparison, Continuity and Change over Time, Periodization, Causation. Practice those skills and understand the concepts.

FALL SEMESTER STUDENTS: It is important that you do a practice DBQ before you take the exam. I am giving a practice test (MC and DBQ) on Wednesday, April 27. Plan to be there.

Avoid—doing a broad sweep review every time. Focus on a particular topic and make a study guide for that topic/person.
