Project Overview: Each individual will create an illustrated and annotated timeline.
Project Specifications:
• Each individual must complete the chart entitled
“Events Leading to the Civil War.”
• Illustrated and Annotated Timeline:
o ANNOTATIONS: Each event should be accompanied by a brief summary of the event and an explanation of its significance. Refer back to your graphic organizer for this.
o The Illustrated timeline should include some sort of graphic (such as a map, photo, political cartoon, drawing, painting, etc.) and a quote from a primary source document that illustrates the significance of each event.
• Rank the Events: “Top 9 Causes of the Civil War”
Each timeline should provide some system for ranking the events in the order of their importance. You need to provide explanation for your ranking. This should be written. This is completely your opinion and analysis.
• Timelines should demonstrate creativity and should be neat and aesthetically pleasing.
• Works Cited-Please provide an accurate MLA works cited page for the sources you use. Your images and direct quotes must be cited. You can use online citation makers.

• You need not access to the internet to complete this project. Your textbook can provide all of the information needed, however you might find that internet access might make this project more user friendly.
