For this yearlong project, you will select a develoPING country. Over the course of the school calendar, you will become an expert on your PING; spouting off factoids and anecdotes about life in your little part of the world! I must approve the country you choose in advance! No trading! No whining! NO EXCEPTIONS!
You will be collecting articles, past and present, on your PING as it relates to the unit we are working on in class. For instance, during the time period we are reviewing culture, you will be gathering information and articles on your PING’s culture. You will need to read and review your articles and summarize them as well. And, on top of that, you will need to make connections from the article content to our class.
Your final exam will be a 5-10 minute presentation on this PING. It will be based on the information gathered throughout the year. You may use a PowerPoint presentation for aid. You will need to discuss your PING and explain the 7 units of our class through the lens of your PING.
Throughout the year, you will gather current event articles that feature your PING. Frequently, you will use these stories to update the class with a verbal presentation on the happenings in your country. In addition, you will organize a PING folder. Here, you will place your news articles and the summaries. I will assess these folders to assign your project grade.
