Dear Faculty and/or Student:

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is the oldest Greek letter organization established in America by African American college women. Since its founding in 1908, the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated membership has stressed the importance of supporting education in a variety of ways. The Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is in Harlem, New York. The chapter concentrates on supporting young people who live or attend school in Manhattan. The criteria for all Tau Omega Scholarships include overall average, financial need, and community service. Extra credit is given to applicants who have chosen a Historically Black College or University (HBCU), have been in foster care or lived at some time in a shelter.
