o In the future, how will thinking critically influence the ways that you:

• Read?

Critical thinking has helped to develop my thinking skills, so when I read I will be aware of more things. I will know if I have read something that sounds like a fallacy. I will also know how to tell the difference between the facts and someone stating an opinion like it was a fact. I will also be able to immediately detect if someone is being biased.

• Write?

The same thing would go for writing as well. I will be able to write better because I can think more critically. I will know when I am about to write a fallacy and when and when not to use them. I will also be able to know when and how to say my opinion without being biased unless the writing calls for that.

• Process information?

Of course processing information will be more thought out. I will think about the information deeper than I usually would because I know what to look out for. Everything will be thought about more critically than usual.

Why and how could you apply critical thinking when evaluating each of the following:

• Articles –

Articles have a lot of fallacies and biased views in them. I can now apply my critical thinking skills when I read them because I will know what to look out for to see if someone is being biased. I will also know how to pick up on fallacies and know which one it is so that I can evaluate the statement the right way.

• Advertising –

Advertising is hard to distinguish. There are so many fallacies that are mentioned in advertizes. I know that one fallacy is the one that makes you do something because you are persuaded into doing it. I will not be aware of these types of fallacies and more.

• Media –

The media is always hard to figure out because it is very biased. This is because most of the time you do not know if something is an opinion or fact. Then there is also the fact there the whole truth of a story is not given which makes it biased. I can know read through the lines and know how to take the information I receive from the media.

• Conversations –

When I talk to someone, no matter friend or foe, I can now follow them and think deeper into the conversation. Critical thinking also develops listening skill because you want to hear what is being said to evaluate it correctly. I can now do this and be able to distinguish what the conversation is really about and also how to respond to someone without being biased, and express myself appropriately.
