Asking Questions in Spanish

*** To make a question in Spanish, you have to flip the Subject and the Verb, and add the upside question mark.

Example: Ella habla espa?ol. (Statement) ?Habla ella espa?ol? (Question)

*** If you add a question word, add the word at the beginning of the sentence.

Example: ?Qu? habla ella? (Question) Ella habla espa?ol. (Statement)

*** If somebody asks you a question, don't forget to answer in the yo form.

Example: ?C?mo est?s t?? (Question) Yo estoy bien. (Answer)

*** To make a statement negative, you put the word "No" directly before the verb.

Example: ?C?mo est?s t?? (Question) Yo no estoy bien. (Answer)

*** If you answer a yes or no question "No", you have to double the "No". (The first "No" answers the question, the second "No" makes it negative).

Example: ?Est?s t? bien? (Question) No, yo no estoy bien. (Answer)

Example: ?Habla ella espa?ol? (Question) No, ella no habla espa?ol. (Answer)
